This was my wife's bike but she no longer has any...
Many congratulations on your miraculous recovery. Last I heard from you on 3rd August was "Got a medical issue that won't be sorted until next year so I can't ride until then"
I'd be interested in which roads go as it might be something to do if I can't stand the rain and the endless/bottomless peat bogs and slippy rocks. I've stayed a couple of times in the estate cottages so I could at least stay warm & dry and watch the telly. How are the dreaded midge?
Best of luck if you're thinking of biking Foinaven or Arkle! Still got them to do but not on the bike. Looks good weather. Last time that I was up there it was the usual horizontal rain.
The charger for the smart system batteries appears to be 4A. Anyone found a Bosch charger that puts out more juice than that for the smart batteries? The "old" Bosch fast charger at 6A isn't apparently compatible with the new batteries. Unless you've found out otherwise of course.

Sort of like if your in a Husky team. Unless you're the lead dog the view never changes. Can't comment on the bear poo but sheepies stuff or that from a big Highland Coo isn't that great either.
Thanks. Looking quickly at the OS from Ardgay it looks like road via Strathcarron to Croick where you pick up the Strath Cuileannach track that takes you to the Old School House. From there it's down to Knockdamph (Loch an Daimh) & then Glen Achall to Ullapool. Would that be about right?
Now that looks pretty interesting. Got any route details on that? How many miles or even km are we talking? And finally what's the sort of tarmac to off road ratio?
Now that's what I call a HAZARD! Scary stuff. There's nothing in the UK that can harm you apart from the usual rabid humans. There are endless debates about should we reintroduce Wolves or Bobcat/Lynx. Nothing doing on that front as the farmers and landowners don't think much of the idea. Don't...
Many thanks for the replies. Being a bit of a hamfisted & clumsy old git it's always useful to get information from people who have actually carried out the work. Theory & YouTube is fine but hands on info is best
Having read up on the Q factor I’m still not too sure if it will make any difference to my riding or if indeed I need it. All my pedals are fitted without washers. Do I need washers? Is it a good idea or not?
