It's all about the modes used, altitude gain and rider weight. To do the 50 miles and 1000m climb I expect I'll have to be in eco mode for all but the steepest climbs.
Did the 44 mile route on my 2018 Levo which generally gets 25 miles, but managed the first 35 miles on only 2 bars as it's nearly all lifts and downhill. Used 7 bars on the last 10 miles which had 800m of climbs. This year I'll be on my Decoy which has a slightly bigger battery and generally...
FAQs state it's possible to do the main trek on an ebike but was hoping someone with personal experience would have some practical advice.
Given that it's the same amount of climbing and only the length of the downhills double, I can't see how it's not achievable as all the extra distance...
Did the 2019 60km e-passport du Soleil and have to say it was the best day out I've ever had on a bike, 44 miles, 5 hours, 13,000ft of descending, max speed 44mph!! Entries open again next week for the 2020 event and I'm definitely going.
Question. Has anyone done the 80km standard route on an...

If i read your post right, you did the standard pds route on an ebike? I loved the event last year on the 60km epds route but wondered if doing the normal route was better and possible on a single charge. The 2019 epds was great, if a bit lacking in single track, and I did 35 miles on 2...
Kept my 2018 Levo when I got my Decoy. Gonna let the wife use it (pigs might fly) and as a spare in case the Decoy needs any work at any time. Now planning to take the Levo over to our place in France so I don't need to keep taking a bike back n forth from the UK.
Got the latest transit custom crew cab with the rear kitted out for bike storage including an inverter to charge the bike, dry boots and power a small washer. Works like a dream. Don't use it for sleeping but it drives so well it's now become my main transport.
I've got both motors and the only difference I see is the E8000 is a bit more binary when kicking in/out but only during boost mode. At lower modes and when rolling off past the max assist speed they are pretty much the same. The E8000 is obviously way louder which may be a problem for some but...
If you think a Levo charge gets hot you shouldn't try the Decoy charger. I can barely hold mine once it gets toward the end of a full charge. I've actually put a USB fan over it in the back of the van whilst I charge it on the road.
On all previous (acoustic) bikes I've been at the top of size small (I'm 5'5'') - I've been mtb'ing since 85 and owned over a dozen bikes.
Tested a medium 2018 Levo (that's the only demo size that was available) and the bike felt like an ocean liner, super stable but not agile at all. Took a...
Apparently there are about 2.5K bike shops in the UK. On the trails I see lots of Trek, Haibike, a few KTMs, Giant, Meridas, Lapieres, Oranges, but its fair to say I probably see as many Levos and Kenevos as all the others put together. So in ebike terms Spesh sure dominate. Regular bikes not so...
The date on the website is the date that model/size will be available for your location if you order it now; add 2-3 days for build, and then shipping, which is 5-10 days to the UK. So, by your example, if it says 16th October it would likely be delivered to a UK buyer about 24th-29th October...
OK to put it into perspective my mate's have a couple of Haibike enduros with 180 travel and they are like monster trucks compared to the Levo: plough thru everything but are the polar opposites when it comes to agility. I'm guessing the Kenevo is along these lines (I would expect Spesh want to...
After my first run out on my decoy, coming from 2 years on a Levo, I'd echo this. The Decoy rides just like a long travel Levo, nimble but with a bottomless feel. My 2018 Levo only has 135 on the back and that is the most noticable difference in the ride between the 2. Negatives to the Decoy...
I wear gloves, knee pads, full face and a pack with a spine board for all rides. Add TLD armour and elbow pads for uplift days. Broke ribs twice doing dead sailors without armour and not planning to go there again.
