Lol... Now you're speaking my language. For a summer I rode an old 26" and the rear brake broke so I just used the front. I would over take tons of people on the trail with high spec bikes, laughing to myself. I think not having all the braking power just forced me to not fear leaning the bike...
That's what i found when i was going to buy a Base model '19. Specialized really is pushing the edge of their asking price for the upgraded models. A do-it-yourselfer could just buy and sell themselves into their ideal spec for less then Specialized's upgraded models unless you're really after...
I often wonder if Specialized would have be better off spec'ing a thicker 31.6mm seat tube. They could have spec'd a OneUp dropper - which gets way lower then the WU dropper - which is a silly design if you ask me... The Wu doesn't even come close to getting as low as the OneUp.
I would get the base... you can buy a X-Fusion Manic dropper in eBay for around $120. It's a really good dropper. Splurge and get a Wolftooth dropper remote if you want. It's worth the money
Don't worry about upgrading a bunch of stuff right away... unless you're a big dude and the fork is...
Anyone here esk8? I watched some clips of esk8 a couple years back and was hooked on trying it. A few injuries hindered me from getting into it, but now that im on the mend, ill be getting into it soon. I'm building up a DIY esk8... a "better than Boosted Board"... capable of 26mph and decent...
Shimano has pretty much said they will support the current system for many years and have designed it with this intention. They have a history of supporting legacy stuff for decades after... think 7 and 8 speed systems - you can still buy new Shimano 7 and 8 speed stuff.
I also think there is...
No one knows for sure. It seems unlikely, unless a battery manufacturer releases new 18650 or 21700 cells with higher capacity then are currently available on the market. The latest cells are several years old now, so who knows...
The best solution is just to throw another battery in your...
I had a XL Meta Power for a few days. I normally have rode large frames in the past.
While the reach felt really good, like I could run a 35mm stem with it... and it would feel good..., I would have had to swap to a OneUp dropper and take *maybe* 20mm off the drop height.
Well adding a motor, motor control, display, and battery add at least $1500. Sure there is a bit of mark up on those things, but the batteries used are the highest capacity cells and have very advanced battery management systems.
Plus, in general, eBikes frames *usually* are way more beefier...
