Agreed, flip-flopping between mc's and bicycles was never a problem for me because of it. I think if I had to use a right hand rear brake on a bicycle it would take me a very long time to adjust!
MT5's flip too. Most hire shops are happy to oblige if you tell them you are a back to front UK'er. A shop flipped them no problem on a full sus we hired in France for my daughter. Can't remember what they were though, not MT5's.
I've found that they go very wafty far before they start developing play. My old Trance had zero play but when I stripped every bearing down half of them were seized, a couple were very stiff and the remaining were proper notchy.
I certainly felt that the bearings were inadequately sized for...

Very interesting solution! I cant see any drawbacks except a bit more resistance when back-peddling which I'm sure wouldn't be a problem for the majority. If mine was annoying I would try sorting something similar out myself, maybe I will if I get bored
I ditched my stock NX mech within 30 miles due to reading so many horror stories about them having crap longevity. I went with an SLX mech and whilst I was there fitted an SLX shifter - not cos the NX one was crap but shifters aren't a lot of money and I felt it made sense to keep the same...
Fair shout that, I had never thought about some bikes maybe having a high pedal kickback due to the rear sus design, and given the Bosch rattle is very much dependant on quick changes in rotation of the chainring it makes sense that some bikes will deffo be louder than others. Like you, I don't...
For me, POC VPD 2.0 for elbows, Leatt 3DF 6.0 for knees as they have the flexible outer shell for a little more protection. Been really happy with both, don't notice either after 15 mins. I actually wanted the Fox Launch Pro D3O or the knees but couldn't find them anywhere at the time. The...
Interesting. Did it require some special connection with the BMS or did you just keep it fed with a slave voltage whilst you disconnected the power from the original cells?
Still over the moon with my 2020 AllMtn 3. Zero problems. I really wanted a carbon version but couldn't stretch to it. I then read about the issues with some Haibike carbon frames on this forum and wondered if I dodged a bullet there. Personally I'm not naive enough to write off all Haibike...
Who makes the battery?
If it were mine I would unplug it anyway. It'd be high hopes in resetting the BMS but you don't have much to lose. I'd probably do the left plug too (charge + and -)
Looking at the soldered parallel tabs it looks like you may have at least 8 or 9 strings. If unplugging...
I presume its reading 0v on the main out?
That does look like a BMS connector but I would expect there to be more than 5 balance leads...do you know the battery config?
It was a 504 (speed tamper) error. Not an overheat/overload one.
You're the one trying to prove something (although I'm still not sure what). I would suggest you try and find an example of a planetary gear working without errors on a Bosch Gen 4 or Smart system.
Logic doesn't come into it. I'm simply explaining how the systems do their best to detect derestriction.
You're aware thats exactly what happened to at least one rider who used a loaded trailer right?
No it can't but thats not the point. With the greatest respect I'm not exactly sure what...
But I thought thats exactly how they were fighting derestricting, using the data Mikerb pointed out above.
Re your 1.5x slower, the system tries to find this by using lookup tables to work out why the motor is using more torque and the battery more current to do a speed that is reportedly 1.5x...
So it's supposed to just be the outer filler thats cracking and yet your pics clearly showing a matching crack inside the frame...hmm...are we saying theres filler inside the frame too..?
