Held off doing this till bike out of warranty then didnt get round to it as got kind of used to the standard restriction but finally sorted today.
Enormous thanks to both Gary for the elegantly thought out workaraound (30mph+ assist with roughly accuracte speedo) and ST Unlocker for the...
Apologies for the thread crash and thank you @steve_sordy for the reply.
The ability to conduct an examination would be very useful however possessing the software to carry out any other tweaking has the potential to go very wrong.
I will track down a friendly local Focus dealer and see what...
Just over a year of use and I have run my Jam² Shimano equipped bike almost exclusively on the internal battery, a few times switching to the Tec pack second. Not been doing that many miles as only tend to go out for an hour or so at a time. Not been very tempted to plan bigger rides as always...
I took a look at the compatability chart as like the idea of a single unit for travel and also a slow charge when in no rush for my Jam² and a faster charger than the basic one came with Mrs Bosch. Shimano not listed let alone Derby cycles/Focus own battery so no good for a lot of people...
Pre essential travel only would use my bike for local errands leaving heavily locked up outside. I reckon a second hand battery market would soon develop on eBay if they were too easy to remove.
Sold other bikes to around the same value but used card for the purchase protection. Would have happily used a very cheap or free credit deal if I could have got the bikes I wanted at the same price but not available.
Thanks for the good advice. Was my gut feeling but struggling to resist the "bigger" "newer" is better urges.
Am I going to seriously screw up the geo of the bike running them with the included170mm airspring or is it worth a try before buying a shorter travel (160?) Spring?
Recently agreed to buy a used set of Lyrik Ultimate Charger 2.1 from a buddy with both 170 and 180 air shafts (collecting when eventually allowed to move around). Now debating whether to stick with these or buy the sturdier 38mm stanchioned Zeb but the low spec EMTB version.
Going on Focus...
I understand it's a bit sketchy taking legal advice on a forum. You could pay a solicitor at least £150 an hour for some advice or you could follow up the advice here with your own research to ensure you are not being led astray.
You would be making a claim for loss (your actual bike) as a...
Ignore their insurance cover as you are not bound by the terms of the bike shops cover, that is the compensation they receive in the event of them sustaining a loss. The bike shop must offer you an acceptable like for like replacement regardless of whether they lose out in giving you that deal...
I am also looking at a new fork for my 27.5 Jam C (came fitted with a 29" 35 Gold RL) and have been offered second hand 27.5 Lyrik Ultimate with both 170 and 180 air springs. Not sure whether I should go for this or spend a bit more on getting a new 38 fork and what travel if I did. Majority...
Looking at getting a Vito XLWB (as most choice in that size) tourer or possibly V class to replace a loved but ageing and increasingly battered T4. Whilst I do love my 5 series estate boards and bikes fit in van with so much less faff. Anyone who owns or used an XLWB Vito got any useful feedback...
