I think knut 7 test above is far more real world than those tests . What does he do spin them to death with an electric motif and create heat and friction wear that workday never occur . All he’s testing is his own lubrication application . He’s got different results with chains that are...
Warranty is with the motor manufacturer they don’t care what make of bike it’s fitted to . It does seem mad you can’t buy can’t buy a motor system and build your own ebike
I think it’s about trust and compatibility in a known brand vs demand . Are you talking about general group set parts , like gears and brakes etc , or ebike specific stuff , motors etc .

Description Shimano 504wh battery perfect condition always been stored indoors used and charged properly and never stored fully charged . Not a huge amount if use because I had 2 batteries with...
Blimey the trek system battery hardly adds that much size to the battery , about 40 mm in length and not much at all in width with the cover which would actually give it a softer side to sit against your back in a bag . With some decent padding or protector . Would be a long day to require a...
Ha ha looking through your back wheel at the perfectly centred wheel behind in that pic , took me a moment to work out what it was , though you had some special top secret gadget on the rear wheel ? maybe Iam just going nuts ?
Unbolt caliper clean with toothbrush and brake cleaner spray ,
pop in old worn brake pads to stop pistons coming out and pump the pistons out .
Pull out the old pads good scrub with toothbrush and brake cleaner , dry off with airline then silicone spray around pistons
re fit old pads to...
A local cycle hire uses wurth motorcycle dry chain wax and swears by it on the gravel trails for the basic hire bikes . I tried it for a while but wasn’t so impressed made my gears feel stiff and built up in the cassette worse than oil
Great test can’t argue with that , back up what we thought running both makes . Be interesting to do same test with kmc ebike and normal chain , then a sram chain as well
Doesn’t surprise me I wasn’t aware shimano were marketing an ebike specific chain , I guess they’ve got to keep up with the trends .
I think in general we were finding kmc chains lasting longer , it’s more about price now , prices have gone up so much , I was getting stuff at cost a year or...
Was it a fair test , one chain . it’s easy to put one chain on wear it out in the winter then another in spring that seems to last longer , but it’s the conditions that have changed not the chain life . Strength isn’t the issue they are all strong enough but I did base my experiences over a few...
I was using the kmc e11 on my last ebike , they did seem to last longer . Got a couple on the shelf if you get stuck finding one . Plain silver , i wouldn’t pay extra for bling colours when it’s covered in crud most of the time
Coming from a light carbon hardtail it must be a big difference ,from one end of the other in one go I found the same when first riding full suss bikes years ago . I guess if you’ve been riding a heavy enduro bike then emtb isn’t such a difference . Personally I like the planted feel the ebike...
I think he more or less points out there that some can handle them some can’t ,
if I compare to more difficult tyre fitting , such as motorbikes , there are some that will throw a heavy tyre on an enduro rim with ease while others curse for hours . Some never gain the right way of doing it
I...
Don’t drill your rims , you will want to go tubeless , and if they are drilled out you’ll have no chance you shouldn’t need an adapter with presta , sounds like you’ve got the wrong pump fitting . Or maybe look at one of the tannus type systems not sure about the 7 but the 9 was tubeless ready...
Was about to ask the same question , what’s with the upgrade kit , or is it just a stem top mount . Easier to see up there I guess but easier to damage and looks a bit ugly .
Bike looks awesome , worth the wait Iam sure .
there is a good enough well in that video , and not all rims have a deep well these days , especially the stronger wider ones commonly used on enduro and ebikes
you only need one bead at a time to drop into the well at a time to fit the tyre .
I’ve not had any difficulties fitting tyres even...
Mine came set in high , I feel no need to make it lower or slacker on my regular rides , which are quite pedaly . It’s already the most capable bike I’ve ridden
