Thanks @Loving Levo for the great feedback! I know exactly what you mean about safety and riding on 45mph roads. I really try to avoid those types of roads, but I have found myself on some 45mph highways with small shoulders and in those cases I put the Levo in full Turbo and ride as fast as I...
Hi @mydogkoal, I don't have any control over orders, but you can email the people at Shapeways and see if it is possible to change your order. Their contact info is here:
Shapeways: Contact Us
I don't have any feedback on the 2.0 version yet, which is why I haven't really mentioned it on this...
Hi @mydogkoal, I think the Expert model uses the DT Swiss 360 rear hub. if I were to guess, I'd say they probably have the same axle diameter (so you'd want the LSS DT), but to be sure can you measure the axle diameter of your rear hub (where it protrudes out from the brake rotor)?
Hi @ccrdave. I am not securing the device with the rotor bolts due to safety concerns. The LSS is made from nylon plastic and if it was designed to sandwich in-between the rotor and bolts it could cause several issues. The first issue is due to the very high bolt torque, it creates extremely...
Hi @szaborichard79 , I'm really sorry it didn't fit for your setup. Yes, it seems that many of these rotors with aluminum inner spiders are thicker (to compensate for the weaker aluminum or maybe just to dissipate heat better). This thickness increase leaves even less room for the LSS. I have...
Hi @breaky33. The Levo Expert comes with DT swiss hubs that have a smaller diameter axle so you need the cover and sun gear with the smaller diameter which you can get here:
LSS Cover / Sun Gear for Levo Expert by JD_3D on Shapeways
Alternatively, you can just get some O-rings to make up the...
I found the perfect place for it too :) Just put one right on the bolt at the bottom of the head tube. The magnetic force is really strong to the bolt so its not going anywhere.
Hi @Lee Dove. It looks like you are replying to a really old post in this thread. Since that post I've added a cover for dust/dirt protection and we have several dozen people using the LSS all around the world (many from the UK and Scotland) and so far not a single failure that I'm aware of. I...
Hi @FrenchLevo. Ok, I just finished creating the new version with the 18.7mm inner diameter. You can get it here:
Beta - LSS DT Gear Set for Levo 2017/2018 by JD_3D on Shapeways
I'm very interested in seeing if it works for your setup :)
Hi @breaky33. There are 2 versions of the LSS, the LSS and the LSS DT with a smaller diameter for the DT Swiss hubs. It looks like Shapeways sent you one of the wrong parts. Can you double-check your order (I don't have access to order info) and then contact Shapeways support and tell them you...
Hi @All Mountain Coaching. There's so many wheel/hub/brake rotor combinations its hard to accommodate all the variations. I don't have any centerlock hubs/wheels to prototype something like this currently. But anything's possible in the future.
Hi @kemp990. The ID of the sun gear and cover is 22mm for the LSS alloy comp. Note that the ring gear does not touch the axle since it rotates with the brake rotor. The ring gear has a larger ID so it easily clears the axle.
So if the Hope Pro4 wheels have a 21mm diameter it might work with...
Hi @FrenchLevo. So, for the default Turbo Comp wheelset the LSS is designed for an axle diameter of 22mm. But for the Expert/S-Works bikes with the DT Swiss wheelset I use an axle size of 18.7mm (expandable to 19mm via the design of it). I have not made a DT swiss version of the 2017/2018...
Hi @szaborichard79, you are the first to order the universal rotor mount :). I guess my only additional advice is to make sure to mount the ring gear and universal mount as centered as possible. It is important the gear is centered so that the planet gear can rotate smoothly around it. If you...
Hi @FrenchLevo. Thank you for the detailed pictures and measurements. Unfortunately the LSS will not fit your 2017 Levo w/ mavic deemax wheels due to multiple fitment reasons. I hope you understand my time is limited so I can't make a custom version for every single person's setup. It is also...
Thank you @kemp990 for reporting back your findings and that everything works fine when the smaller rear sprockets are used. I also just spent about 30 minutes testing with and without the LSS on a steep hill and can provide some additional details.
1) First, regarding walk assist power. I can...
@kemp990, here are two other interesting threads I found of people having problems with walk assist (without using the LSS). So it seems walk assist is a bit buggy even without using the LSS.
