I'm fairly certain the wheel would fold in half before the head tube area flexed enough to contact the frame :). Did a quick body weight check on the wheel at a 90 deg angle and at the head tube / fork crown area it's extremely stiff (couldn't get it to contact). But I guess in some unlucky...
I have a 2019 Turbo Levo Carbon Comp size Medium. I didn't like the feel of hitting the frame bump stop when making sharp turns (i.e., when track-standing or when just trying to rotate the bike to fit into the garage). Looking at the fork it seemed like it would clear the frame so I removed the...
Interesting Karsten, thanks for the heads up. I did some searching on here but couldn't find the threads you referred to (if you have any links I'd be interested in reading them). I could see if there was a huge mis-match between mileage and charge cycles it could raise a red flag, but for the...
@tomiki question prompted me to put down some of my thoughts regarding assist speed limits, warranties, and morality. This post got really long (sorry!), so I suggest getting a cup of tea first :)
When choosing to modify your bike to increase the assist speed it raises 2 issues:
Violating the...
I crossed the 500 mile mark today on the LSS, and it's been flawless so far. A quick calculation puts that at around 500,000 rotations of the planet gear . Anyone have some serious mileage on theirs?
Hi @Dewez, glad it's working good for you! Yeah, the planetary gear can be mounted either way, good to know it's less noisy with the magnet facing inwards (I was going to try that but never got around to it). Regarding removal, it's pretty much the reverse of the installation. If the sun gear is...
Yes, I chatted with Fazua about that a few months ago. They hope to get certified later this year I think. I may be able to ride some of their demo/prototype bikes at the Seat Otter Classic next month, so I'm looking forward to that :)
For now the eZesty isn't available in the USA, but my fingers are crossed that a full-suspension Fazua powered bike will make it over here to California. I considered importing one but then getting one serviced here in case of issues would be very difficult.
With the Lapierre eZesty getting a lot of praise for its light weight and light-handed approach to an eMTB, I think Specialized should answer this with a new model of the Turbo Levo. It could be called the Turbo Levo Pure or maybe the Turbo Levo Air. The idea would be to match the eZesty weight...
Interesting. I was thinking of designing something similar and printing it at Shapeways (similar to the LSS) but it looks like they beat me to it. I noticed they are using a hard plastic which means they must have some gaps at the bottom to allow for suspension movement. I would have thought...
Wow, that color is amazing! Didn't even know that was an option (I don't think it is in the USA). I am really jealous as I had to go with the crazy bright red (only one they had in the shop).
@xcentric did you get your bike yet? Hopefully you didn't have any delays. Awesome that you got an LSS as well. You should ride around for a week with it stock and then when you put on the LSS it will be like a new bike again :).
Hi @Ddc6284, a few people are running the LSS with different rotors by screwing the LSS directly on the rotor. However, a different wheel set is probably not going to work with the standard LSS due to a different rear hub body diameter. If you have a pair of calipers, you could measure the...
Thanks for the great picture @High Voltage. I can see from the image that the dropout on the Sworks has a much different profile than the Aluminum versions. Does the LSS spin ok? If not, using the new low-profile ring gear here should help:

Hi @xcentric, congrats on the new bike! What model are you getting? Regarding updates to the LSS, I eventually plan on creating an LSS V2.0 with a number of changes, specifically in trying to make it thinner/smaller for better clearance, which may hopefully allow for a larger cover that wraps...
