*Disclaimer* Compared to my previous posts which were actually my thoughts, this is actually an ad. I shot this photo of Italian eMTB champion Andrea in Mallorca a few months ago when we tried the bikes for the fist time. The climb was ridiculously steep, it took Andrea a few tries, but after he...
Every Haibike dealer can order the rear mech hanger for you. Normally they go in even if its a little bit damaged, but your best bet would be to go down to you local Haibike dealer and have them look at it: Haibike | We are ePerformance.
These are my honest thoughts, and I stand by them, but of course the best thing is to ride one and make up your own mind once they are available in the summer. Please come back to me afterwards though. Will be surprised if you don’t think the same.
It sounds like the eZesty is the bike for you.
I made no insults to the other manufacturers, most of the eMTB offerings are good from all the top manufacturers right now as I already stated. I like all the motors too, except maybe the Bosch because I don't like the drag over 25 Km/h. BUT, if you...
Depending on the user case and the trails you ride then one solution or another will likely always be better. Most of the top eBikes nowadays are seriously good, and most people would be happy with any of them, but I still believe the FLYON bikes offer something different than the rest (the...
Sure, I am Co-Owner of the Haibike Design Center Munich GmbH, or HDCM as we call ourselves. We are an independently owned and run studio with a contract to do all of the Brand / Design / Communication work for Haibike. This is why I have tried so many bikes, and why I am currently riding a FLYON...
During the many trade events this year I rode almost every eMTB out there (not the new eZesty though) and whilst i think other bikes are more agile, and therefore in some situations more fun, I would still take the FLYON AllMtn because of how refined the whole package is and how slow and weak...
If you are looking for an eMTB which feels close to a normal MTB then I would say the FLYON bikes are probably not for you. If you are open to what the market leaders idea of a cutting edge eMTB should be like then you should give it a try. I was also a little apprehensive before I tried it but...
There are no production bikes ready yet, only prototypes, albeit very nearly finished versions. The Mallorca event was just for key dealers in the main markets to get a first feel for the new bikes.
You can wave your Stork leg at it as it flies past you on every uphill :)
630Wh is not small, it requires some space. The tubing is dictated by the battery size, and actually it all looks quite balanced in reality as everything is scaled up on that bike. Maybe just takes some getting used to...
You are making the understandable mistake of comparing the geometry and other things too much with other bikes. It has 120Nm of continuous torque. Not peak torque like other motors. It has so much power which changes the whole equation. Trying to understand this bike without riding it will not...
There are no practical downsides to the double kink toptube when riding the bike because the top tube still slopes down quite steeply. The bike is like nothing else I have ever ridden.
I have ridden prototypes of it. The motor is far above and beyond anything else on the market. On steepish uphills where you normally go around 14-16 Km/h with a Bosch or Yamaha motor, you easily hit 25 Km/h. I made climbs on it that I didn't get anywhere close to making on my other bikes...
I have them on my 2018 AllMtn 8.0 Yamaha PW-X bike. The 2019 AllMtn 6.0 above has longer cranks, and I actually had a massive highside into the bushes after clipping a root on the inside of a corner last ride on it as I wasn't used to them! Will never use cranks longer than 160mm again if...
Buy some 155 length cranks, I got some a year ago and would never go back to longer ones. You can pedal through anything it's so much better. I also find it more balanced somehow when cruising with your pedals level. No down side as far as I can tell. In action:
