I haven't ridden a huge amount of e-bikes. I have the 2020 Kenevo comp, and I have ridden a similar sized Merida E 160. Very different bikes and purposes. But my impression is that the long wheel base, chain stays and the slack hta of the Comp is what mostly affects the agility.
I hear people...
A coil upgrade without breaking the warranty? How cool is that? ?
My Smashpot coil conversion feels great and takes the Bomber to the next level. The added weight doesn’t mean much on an e-bike.
This Marzocchi kit is much more affordable also..
You cannot fit a DUB groupset on an e-bike, since DUB is SRAMs newest standard for bottom brackets for analogue bikes. You can fit 1x12 Eagle casette, dereaileur and shifter, though...
I just installed a smashpot in my Marcocchi Bomber Z1 (2020 Kenevo) and it smoothens things out incredibly. A correct setup coil makes wonders when it comes to plushness. It may take som poppiness away though...
All upgrades are done!
Ended up with a mudhugger in the back.
The smashpot made the fork super plush. But trails are snowy now, so cannot really compare to the original setup.
A very nice review, I have very much of the same impression. I am at the same heigth and S3 Comp. I would like to add that I think the bike is more agile than expected, and that it holds up very well even in tight singletracks.
I have a Smashpot spring conversion on order (Black Friday deal).
Over here Emtb isn’t very big yet. Bought mine in a highly regarded LBS (for the most), but they couldn’t offer me a swap of suspension spring to match my body weight. I had to purchase it. They simply do not sell enough bikes, let alone ebikes.
I wonder if anyone could help me with a mesaurement of the length of the 12mm thru axle in the back wheel? My bike is in the workshop, and I do not know when it will be back. I would like to order a thru axle for a baby trolley.
The measurement should be the min-max in the picture.
Many thanks!
