Now come on guys, there seems to be more than just a few major brands all releasing lightweight low powered EMtbs next year than previous. When the likes of Spec, Trek, Haibike, Orbea just for starters are already tooled up, these are the big boys of the Emtb world, do they know something that...
No need, carbon will move a lot more than the 3mm on either side without any worries. In some ways you get a more responsive feeling bike by loading up the carbon strands so that all the strands are taut within the structure, before the suspension acts. I am talking almost imperceptible forces...
Yup mines out to about 6mm gap, but it was probably like that from new. I suspected at the time I built the bike up that the factory hadn’t put a cross bolt through when first coming out of the mould and whilst still cooling from heat setting the Epoxy. As I had mine in finished in gloss I had...
Not sure but I'm reading that we all like Fat tyres, in the right place and useage.
On a full suspension bike are they really necessary ? If your'e not riding in snow or sand are they really an advantage, convince us.
Mmmm maybe. I've used my XT shifters 10 & 11 spd with both 10 & 11 Spd XT derailleurs without problem. I have had problems though playing with SRAM and Shimano mixed although there are some that do cross over. Would the cage and pulleys need replacing, the difference in chain width is so small...
Why change the mech when its the shifter that organises the amount of movement. The mech limit screws will deal with the slightly wider cassette. The only thing you may have to do is check the hub cassette tension, some hubs won't pull up tight enough on the 11 Spd but easily dealt with by...
Yup you are goner have to swap a bit here or there ( well shifter and chain ), but that whole lot inc cassette is probably cheaper than the 12spd cassette. Add that up over the lifetime of your bike and thats a few bike holidays. And no you won't miss the 12 speed, thats for roadies and mtbs...
What, summer riding is just getting you through the entre course of EMtbing, getting you ready for the main course. Winter riding is where the old hands excel and the young bucks get back on their game machines because they are crap at anything other than going fast on perfect trails. ;)
Got...
Ps do individually stress each spoke with your fingers when you think you have it all trued, you will be surprised just how much the wheel moves as the spokes “ relax “ into place. Best thing I find is lightly tapping the spokes with a screwdriver much like a tuning fork, its a really fast way...
But tyre width is the reason you are going for a Fat Bike.
I'm not sure you really understand the full repercussions of the extra width on the rear. Things like needing 100 - 120mm width on the bottom bracket so that the cranks clear the rear stays, what motor has that width, very few. There's...
My reading of the blurb is that it’s for all manufacturers, not just Bafang, giving even the hub and mid motors of the cheap end of the market a way of offering what the larger manufacturers offer.
But dont hold me to that.
Bit like my mothers advice on marriage, "always try on before you buy". Wish a few more here would actually get off their computer keyboards and go and try, before commenting
Interesting that in about 2 years the threads have gone from pure hating everything about 50NM lightweight bikes to actually now discussing them openly as the future trail bike.
Geez guys, we don't ride our downhill bikes on trail based rides because they are rubbush, how about us all...
Just pushing my old age pension in the UK and the bus pass is way back in yonder years, still doing some good rides though, well I consider them good fun rides, just glad EBikes have allowed us to continue doing what we all like to do. Mind you todays 60's are the last generations 50's such is...
