Q&A on coronaviruses (COVID-19)
If you’re going to make assertions about what WHO are saying (based on current knowledge) provide explicit links please.
You do realise that the UK would have fed into the decision making process too right? The reason for the limit is explained above. Just get fitter and pedal through it It’s not a speed limit!
Good weenying. The Manic dropper is heavier than I thought it might be.
The Reverb weighs more than I’d expect too. It’s a little more about function though so I do understand your draw to it.
The scientific evidence suggests this is much more serious than any of those outbreaks. We also don’t know how it is carried and expressed in a wide population making control much more difficult. The world is also not in all that great a place for world wide or even European coordination...
World population was around 1.6 billion in 1918 too (with half in China. Now it’s 7.8 billion worldwide). This also has some bearing.
It’s not hyperbolic to suggest we really are in uncharted territory with this pandemic though now.
I tried a L and it was kinda ok but shorter than the M Orange Surge I ride now. I’ve previously ridden a full fat Levo M but it was too small. I could potentially run an XL with 35mm stem and reduced offset fork to get a more up to date feeling ride.
How tall are you @Blinkie?
Have any of the SL owners on here sized up considerably to get a longer reach? There’s costs to this in terms of stand over height, stack, seat post height flexibility etc but that might be worth paying.
Specifically I’m 176cm and the L would likely work but is a little shorter than I would...

However I agree, there needs to be much more incentive to adopt ebikes right across the board.
Of course you could just try pedalling harder if you think 25kph is too slow? ;)
You’re acting like you’re an oppressed minority. Maybe it’s about time you considered the rights of others around you too? Other trail users, those that actually protested to get the right of way as a bridle way or footpath, the farmer with livestock who you share the right of way with? Not...
How many people are actually doing 20mph? It could be argued that wider adoption of the scheme will mean fewer urban transitions from 30 to 20 leading to greater adherence. Also is a year is too early to tell? If people stuck to 20 then the area is much more pleasant to be in as a resident...
“constructing well thought out arguments,”. Surely you’d need “so called experts“ for that?
Humanity is making the same mistakes it has made before like you say, however the leaders we have and the rhetoric used today is how we ended up there.
This is the last thing I’ll say about this but I...
Keeping this on topic: Having tried the Mahle/Specialized motor it is definitely easier to pedal through the cut off (though it’s not completely without impact) so really how much does the limit really matter?
These are assisted bikes not motor vehicles - that’s a massive advantage as we can...
