I always ride with the clutch off. Just works better that way. Better shifting, never have a problem with chain falling off. And that is riding the Alps and Pyrenees.
And as the RustyMTB mentions, you can adjust the clutch. I adjust them so i get a little bit of clutch action in the off...

I have since switched back to a shimano XT chain, because they do shift slightly better on the cassette than KMC.
I still have the motor for sale yes, but i currently dont have access to it. Im currently travelling and wont be able to send you the torque sensor until september. I suppose that is not an option?
So the Hope cranks have a cinch interface for mounting the spider clutch? I doubt it since this is race face specific.
Or do you have a different solution for the spider clutch?
Ok update on the failing Dyname 4.0
My bike shop was very nice and understanding about the problem. They would just contact RM, order a new motor and put it in. For the shop it was a clear case, a bearing that was about to go tits up and was already making noise. Thats what warranty is supposed...

So it seems that my Dyname 4.0 is starting to fail. There is a horrible clicking (bearing) noise coming from the upper motor bearing nearest to the small chain cog.

Well we can only guess what motivated Shimano to change the design. However the grinding and misalignment problem of those gears is seen with both the early model and the later model.

Keep in mind that the overtime pack is not just a 2nd battery connected to your bike. It is a mobile charging device, similar to your wall adapter. So it needs to provide a regulated voltage and current to charge the main battery properly.

Look for a spare parts E8000.
Those gears are swapped very often because they are one of the weak points of the E8000. So make sure the spare parts E8000 you want to buy is low mileage and has a pristine set of those gears inside.
