I don't think a lower BB has so much advantage for handling and stability on an emtb as the centre of gravity is so much lower and exaggerated than an acoustic anyway... stability is already there imo. Pro's outweigh the cons for me and I'd rather have the bit of extra clearance... even though...

Not a Game but my missus has a 2020 Trail 6 which is the same frame ... it's a size down for me but I've been out on it a fair bit last couple of months and really rate it. Wish I'd just got one myself and been enjoying it instead of faffing about waiting on EP8 news and new this & that to come...

I mostly ride without but I have a pair of Leatt mx gloves that have good knuckle protection and they are windproof and warm without being bulky, very grippy too... Don't mind wearing them at all them when its cold.

Not sure what you mean by "UK based" ... not much is manufactured here.You mentioned Merida which isn't UK based. You can (usually) buy E*Thirteen stuff in the UK... stock may be thin on the ground as with anything that goes on a bike these days. I'm sure your knees won't mind if you get them...
