I was just looking at this and 2 things came to mind :

ornament.png

Which poor sod does the dusting ..

And .. would it be cool or stupid to have an old bike cut in half and leaping from the chimney breast (moderators: that's a legitimate use of breast)

So who uses an old bike as an ornament ?? Does it work ? Is it cool ? or is it crap ?

Question 2 : why is a chimney breast called a chimney breast ?

OK, I'll bite, why were you looking at this picture in particular? :)

Wouldn't a bike on the the wall look like a bike hater's trophy?

Google 'bike on wall decoration' shows that some people think it's a good idea...

Because chimney tit doesn't sound right ?
But breast - at least human ones, are more often than not in pairs .. how often do you see two chimney breasts next to each other ?

I agree though, chimney tit, doesn't sound right .. that sounds like a chimney sweep who doesn't know what he's doing.

Hadn't thought of it like that .. I remember when I bought my first motorbike I thought I'd just keep them all from then on and stick them on the wall in the future - like many things in like I've thought - it didn't quite work out like that.

I didn't want to search .. you just get the usual - well, search results ... I wanted REAL LIFE ! You know, someone who's stuck their bike sideways in the ceiling and converted the wheels to twin ceiling fans or something cool ..

or something in the bathroom in the corner .. the mud tyre de-clagenator .. ?!?!?

You could power them on remotely and listen to the scary garish creaking and hollering sounds ..

How could he power them on? ......they're dead, they have ceased to be, they have gone to meet their maker.....etc.....etc...etc., mate, those motors wouldn't voom if you put 5,000,000 volts through them!!!!

I think 99.9% of "dead" brose motors still work .. They just don't properly convert the spinning thing to useful spinning thing ..

So with a properly arranged display wall, back wired to transformers and remote receivers, you can still power on their creaking, spinning, whining, yelping, screaming forms back into life .. with a suitably creative artist, you might be able to get them to play certain tunes - or horror film soundtracks might be more appropriate.. Ghost of Specialized past.

If you were a dedicated fan, you could decorate your 5 metre tall xmas tree with all the dead TCU's with different flashing codes !
