Nothing to do with Specialized warranty imo. It's just a Covid thing. Nothing is made, nothing is available or gets delivered. It's affecting almost anything you try to buy or get a hold of. If you need a part that is in stock, you're in luck. If it's not in stock...
I understand it's a PITA though.
I did 4500km on a Giant Trance E2Pro with Shimano BR-MT520 brakes without a single howl or other disturbing sound.
I did 350km on my actual 2021 Turbo Levo Comp with Shimano SLX brakes, which were evenly quiet, but since my last ride they started to howl like mad !!
No idea what triggered that...
It all depends on the bike geometry too as I experienced recently (and the used tires/compound).
Coming from (for about 25 years) 26" fully Rocky Mountain Element TO - one year Giant Trance E2 Pro 27,5" and now 29" Speci Turbo Levo Comp I found out that the 29" Levo is MUCH more playful and...
Since it's getting colder and wetter (and I needed some new winter gloves):
Sealskinz Waterproof Extreme cold weather gloves:
And while they were on sale the somewhat thinner Craft Rain Glove 2.0
Maidentrip tomorrow for the SealSkinz... ?
I have that part installed. And it does what it is supposed to do: protects the linkage from mud/dirt.
It fits perfectly, if a bigger tire fits the bike, this will not interfere.
It's easy to fit (special velcro), easy to remove (some force needed) and replace after cleaning, it weighs...
About 350 km, no issues yet :D
Changes: bigger chainring (36), 10/45 cassette, beefier grips, Fizik saddle,
and this nice little piece to keep the mud away from the main pivots:
Levo Comp here too. Got it last week and reading this topic I just checked via MC and my installed firmware is 7.3.6...
According to what I read about the model year of the motor: mine was made 2020-03-09.
I had a Lezyne 800 Micro Drive Pro XL that I rarely used, but was good enough as long as you were riding on roads:
https://www.lezynestore.be/lezynevoorlicht/lezyne-micro-drive-pro-800xl-zwart-7437.html
But a few weeks ago I started riding a lot of nighttime offroad and the above was not good...
Well, after all I must have a VERY good LBS. (For the Belgians: BIKE-INN Herentals).
Today I picked up my long awaited (was going to be available end of December but Santa came much earlier) Turbo Levo Comp and the guy didn't even mention the 700 euro price raise. I got my bike at the price I...
Partly true. Modern fabrics don't stink either, but obviously you have to wash them after use...which is what I do after each ride...
But that's something I did even long before modern fabrics were on the market and real chamois was used in bike pants...
I will go for this one: Specialized Turbo Levo
That is if I got some cash left to spend after the expected 700 euro price raise for the TLComp... :cautious: (though it was ordered months ago).
Edit: picked up my bike today (Nov 13th) and my LBS didn't even mention the price raise from...
2.500 km on a KMC e.12 Turbo, EcoProteq, e-bike optimized chain (was at 0.75).
Now I have 3.500 km and still the same (Shimano 12sp 10-51) cassette, and Praxis 36T chainring.
Giant Trance E2 Pro / Giant Sync Drive Pro (Yamaha) motor.
Edit: I should probably add that I use WAX on my chain.
I'm 5'10" (178cm). Riding a Giant in size M atm.
My friend has the same bike in size L and I feel better on his bike.
I have ridden the first TL model in size L also and have now ordered a Turbo Levo Comp size L.
Comparing my actual feel and the bike dimensions I feel the L will be the better...
