I’m interested in purchasing this (see link below) carbon-fiber/rubber stone chip protection for my 2021 Specialized Turbo Levo FSR. I’m in the USA and only speak English so I’ve also pasted the German to English translation below. My questions are: Has anyone else purchased this? How are you getting along with it? Was installation as easy as it looks? Does it stay in place? Does it interfere with tire clearance should I decide to go fatter in the rear? Any insight you may provide would be greatly appreciated.

On a related note: Would anyone be interested in purchasing a never installed 2 piece SicoMTB v2 rear guard? Free shipping from Kentucky ;-)

Lost in translation:

The stone chip protection was specially developed for the Specialized Turbo Levo Comp (model 2019/20/21 with aluminum frame).
It consists of carbon and rubber and is vulcanized in a special process under heat and high pressure. This means that the protection in the area in which the carbon surface is visible is dimensionally stable and flexible in the area in which the rubber is visible. The inside of the protection is completely rubberized.

The assembly is carried out with the included industrial Velcro from 3M and is therefore very easy.
Extensive tests have confirmed that it functions correctly and is liable.

Assembly Instructions

Make sure the area containing the
the stone guard covers, clean and
is fat free.

Before attaching the protection / Velcro, do one first
"Dry test" to help you with the positioning of the
Protection on the frame.

Now pull the protective film from the
inside Velcro.

Press the protection onto the rubberized one
Part of the swing arm, thereby locking it in
the right position.

Check the correct position again
and press the protection against the frame.
The protection is ready to use immediately.

And now "rock the trail" !!

Ohh cmon really . The motor is gonna suffocate!!. A stray rock isn't gonna kill ur bike guys . And if it does ? Well.. specialized might fix it . Just get some dirt on that part . I cleaned my bike the other day for the first time and found this part ( see picture)

I have that part installed. And it does what it is supposed to do: protects the linkage from mud/dirt.
It fits perfectly, if a bigger tire fits the bike, this will not interfere.
It's easy to fit (special velcro), easy to remove (some force needed) and replace after cleaning, it weighs practically nothing and is very well constructed. The lower part is softer so it can move with the triangle.
It's not air tight, so I don't see how the motor is going to suffocate (it will suffer more from mud piling up there).

After my first mud rides without it (because I was waiting for delivery), I made a lookalike from a inner tube, because the mud pile up was massive and interfered with my OCD. That worked also, but looked a bit crappy.

I'm very happy with this.
The guy who produces this is mostly working on MotoX parts, but made it for a friend who owns a Levo. That's where I first saw it and given the positive comments I ordered one too.

The motor is gonna suffocate!
Good point! Between this stone chip protection from V4 Factory, and the Amygos BottomBracket guard, my motor is not going to be able to breathe! It gets sticky hot on Kentucky making ventilation even more important for my motor. Wouldn’t I be better off just running it naked? For the record, I’m not even wrapping (invisiframe, ridewrap, etc) my aluminum Comp. I’m never selling so I don’t care about paint chips/scratched. My primary concern is with debris getting down into the motor housing. That, and perhaps more importantly, water ingress (though I never ride closed/muddy trails). Also I’m growing more and more convinced Specialized sorted the issue 2019 & 2020 owners were having with this particular section for 2021 models when they added a new rubber piece and a sponge in the motor housing. Am I just overthinking this?
I thought my Parts Acquisition Syndrome would subside after I got my bike (it’s here, it’s finally here!) but, as you can see, I’m still dealing with a fairly severe case.
