As has already been stated, the air needs a continuous upwards route to the reservoir.
What I've done before is to pump the brake then tie it back (as described in the opening post), but then tap / flick the caliper and brake line to dislodge any air inside. Starting at the caliper, work your...
Release the paddle after it shows walk mode. Then press it again.
If you press the paddle to enter walk mode and just continue to hold it down it won't do anything. You need to release it once it shows 'walk' then press it again.
What exactly do you mean "doesn't seem to work or if it does little or nothing"?
You have to shift down until it shows walk mode on the screen, then hold the paddle down. The back wheel will either turn, or it won't. Which is it?
Well, after fighting off the bushfires, the smoke haze and more recently the flooding, the weather in Sydney this weekend was absolutely stunning. 28 degrees, sunny, trails with just a bit of moisture in them - what more could you want!
However it's 35 degrees outside today so am not too upset...
I had the CSU creak on my Fox 36 Ebike forks - I also thought it was a loose headset to start with as does sound a bit like a rattle when going over rough ground. If it is the CSU you should be able to force the noise to happen when stationary - I took the bike back to the shop, demonstrated the...
Don't know where about's you are in Sydney, but Cyclery Northside in Chatswood have some demo Levo's, and they're also hosting an e-bike ride in St Ives in Dec.
So demo a bike, meet some fellow e-bikers and ride some fun trails - what's not to like!
How does the fork know whether the extra weight is in the bike or the rider?
I agree that 'on average', an e-bike + rider combo will weigh more than a non e-bike + rider
And a heavy rider on an e-bike will probably benefit from the e-bike specific fork. But it has nothing to do with the...
Am I right in saying that the only difference is that they're slightly 'beefed up' (thicker stanchion walls etc) to handle the extra weight of the e-bike?
If that's the case then I would have thought a better way of choosing a fork would be based on total weight - eg a 100kg rider on an...
You might want to give people a bit more to go on.
What exactly are you doing, step by step. At what point does the problem occur? What happens? Any messages?
I'm heading to Bright over Christmas. I think e-bikes will be in the majority since they brought in the charges to self shuttle - PressReader.com - Your favorite newspapers and magazines.
Yes, I think that's possibly one area where the Merida was a little bit conservative, especially compared to analog enduro bikes available at the time.
I don't actually ride it on the beach - "Sydney's Northern Beaches" is an area which has some pretty steep, rocky and techie riding. You can...
Nothing. Nothing at all. But what's wrong with the idea of changing my bike and asking people's opinions about what features / bikes I might want to look at ?
I understand what you're saying, but take that to extremes and we'd all still be on analog, 26" wheeled, fixed seat post, steel...
I've currently got a 2018 Merida E160 900 which I've had for 18 months now and am thinking it might be time for an upgrade. However, I'm not sure what I actually want.
The Merida is pretty well specced and handles the local trails (Sydney's Northern Beaches) pretty well - I don't feel that it's...
Surprisingly few votes from Sydney so far. I'm up on the Northern Beaches and the place is made for e-bikes - lots of steep terrain but not really accessible for shuttling, so the e-bike makes perfect sense.
I'm 5'10 and ride a large - but I prefer bikes on the larger side rather than smaller. So if you prefer bikes on the smaller side I'd suggest a medium would be the best choice.
But why not try and get a demo on both?
