I had a Trek 9.7 and it was a fantastic bike. ZERO problems. In fact the Trek 9.7 has a stellar reputation from anything I've read. I think we all know what the problem is. BTW...I'd be willing to bet if you go to a different brand of bike and ride it the same way, you're not going to like that...
I never take my keys when riding. I put my keys inside my truck's bumper. Never had a problem and unliess you know where to look, you'd never find them. My phone (when I take it) is in my fanny pack (Fox makes a great one). Otherwise it stays in my truck locked. I am a minimalist rider. I take...
I have never washed any of my bikes...never. We can't ride on muddy trails due to most trails being closed if wet conditions...and I hate mud riding anyway. The most I do is use window cleaner on the bike to clean her up and use an air compressor to blow out dirt/dust.
I have a Tazer MX Pro. Out of all my bikes, this bike is the one I look forward to riding the most. The bike is 100% carbon, frame and triangle. It is light...this is not a heavy bike at all. It handles awesome and seems very rigid up front thanks to the DC fork...which I like. The brakes and...
On cooler days, or days if I really want to hammer for an hour or so, I wear a full on Fox MX helmet. Is it hotter than a MTB helmet? Yup. Does it weigh more? Yup. But the protection afforded makes ANY MTB helmet seem like a friggin toy. But, I was used to riding for hours when I raced MX, so a...
You don't need ebike specific brakes. That's a complete load of shit. If that were the case, brakes would be sold based upon bike and rider total weight. Replace the pads, bleed the brakes, you'll be fine. If you just want to upgrade, go for it. Never a bad idea to have better brakes, that's for...
Ride a carbon and an aluminum emtb back to back...if you can't tell the difference, get whatever. I have done this many times on my bikes. To me, the difference was quite noticeable. Nothing that I'd freak out about, but there was a definite difference. The steering input, the ride difference...
Don't crash a carbon framed bike...ever. If you do, always sacrifice yourself and save the bike.
Problem solved...you're welcome.
I prefer the feel and ride sound of carbon over aluminum. Carbon just feels better to me in every way. That being said, if they completely did away with carbon...
Nice. If you're ever near Elkhorn again, give me a shout.
Welcomer? No...no...no...no...hell no. I gave the best advice and we'll leave it at that.
Oh, you're welcome.
I can see this happening easily on any emtb. You are shifting under pedal and motor LOAD on the biggest sprocket. This puts the all the force as you are pedaling/shifting on arguably the weakest point on the drive system...the big sprocket. This is why you rarely see the smaller sprockets break.
Those other cheap bikes don't have a 90 NM motor hammering on to the sprockets while you are pedaling and shifting.
Rule #1 on emtb's...don't shift under load. Ohhh, you can think about it, just don't do it.
Yeah...saw those. Just no long term tests really at all. Just wondering if anyone even owned one. It's a pretty funky bike. Non-removeable 504 battery, Pro-Taper bars, TRP trail brakes, KS dropper. I can get it at a seemingly reasonable price. I sold my Trek 9.7 to my buddy, so I was looking at...
I was looking at bikes yesterday and ran across this bike. Eminent LT Advance model. Has any one had any experience with them? Smaller bike manufacturer in Southern California I believe. High pivot, all carbon, 145/150 FOX suspended, light enduro bike. Spec'd pretty decently. Looks really...
Why is de-restriction such a big deal legally? People do this to cars all the time and nobody blinks and eye. But, OMFG, de-restricting a GD bicycle is like breaking into a friggin bank. I get the warranty stuff, but if you're OK with no warranty, then why all the hub bub, Bub?
I have had mine for a couple years now. Best hoodie I have ever used in the cold. Excellent quality. The hoodie part is thinner than normal hoodies and the zipper helps also. You can use the hoodie under your helmet (also as a face cover) and still have a great fit for the helmet. I was...
Taller bars with a bit more sweep and less reach is usually easier on your wrists. Too far over the front obviously puts more pressure on your arms. I generally run 35-40mm rise bars simply for comfort. The bars bend sb aligned with the fork angle as close as possible also. Try sliding your seat...
Gotta agree with rzr...the leading angle of the bottom of the bike is really sharp and squared off. Definitely not a smooth transition from frame to motor bottom. The more I look at this bike, the less I like it.
