Just searched Spectral:on manual in google and it comes up as the first line (in my search).
I think that you can charge the battery on or off the bike as the port is accessible either way. Just depends what is most convenient for you.
It was shipped from Koblenz PM on 0208 and was in Greenford 03/08 at 02.46. That being a Saturday, they phoned me to arrange a delivery on Monday 05/08 and delivery slots were Weds to Friday.
If yours ships today it may be in Greenford overnight and you may be able to arrange an appointment...
In fairness, she'd struggle to fit a full blown racing yacht into the box, even if she bought it you in extreme kit form (1,000,000,000 match sticks and a tub of glue) I'm not sure it would fit.
I will just have to order about 499 more bikes (with the mast strapped to the outside)?
I can ride the 3km up and down the local flat railway trail 20 times until the battery is drained?
Tried the birthday present box fill, but the alternative proposal was just a ribbon around the bike, ridden or not ☹️. There will be some mtb related extras though, my current flat shoes are toast...
Thanks Lee. Agreed, LI batteries do not have charge memory, but some are alleged to benefit from a full charge prior to initial use and then a full discharge to get all cells initialised.
For the sake of it, unless someone advises that it is harmful, it has to worth a go, I guess?
Good point, I was planning to charge the battery and then would want to fully discharge it so need to ride the bike to do that. Always assuming that the battery is delivered with the bike (I’ve heard that this is a possible Canyon failing)☹️.
Having considered, and even spoken to Thok, I went for a Spectral:ON 7.0 in the end and despite probably not being able to ride it more that on very short flat paths for a couple of months at least, I wanted to pick it up during the sale, so ordered on the 29th July and it arrives tomorrow.
I...
Ha, I usually end up coming full circle to my original conclusion, having put the time in and then had the nagging doubts.
No to the bike picture wall, as, surprisingly, the bike is not top of my interests, being primarily for recuperation purposes. A wall of racing sailing yachts might be...
I like that, the idea of a standard size external battery is also appealing, as is the smaller 300wh battery to carry as back up.
Kind of brings the Canyon to mind, again, and the price highlights the vfm of the Spectral:on, particularly in the current sale ( hurry, ends today?).
I'm starting to think that some of this geo data is a bit of an over-complication.
if I compare to motorcycle geometry, things like wheelbase, rake (headstock/ fork angle), front wheel offset and to some extent swing arm length do correlate. But, seat tube and saddle position relative to the...
Good call, was thinking about something like this and I may be ok for a gentle ride by September. Do you have any more detail on location and date please?
Thanks Ken - I’m was leaning toward small, mostly because of the seat tube length, but your info on where the seat post is set for you and the dropper length has me thinking about a medium again. I do quite a lot of my riding with my wife and friends on general trails (what would be green /...
As S is the smallest size YT do in the Decoy, I could by a medium for me and a small for my wife, she’s 5’2”, and have the best of both worlds, for my £10k?. Probably never see the small once my wife got on it though!
Probably correct until my wife insists that I move it. I could ride it around the kitchen island I suppose?.
Anyway, Decoy is only one option, although back on (up) the list after the discussion with my medicos’.
Really helpful info, thanks Mark. My medical advice helps me a bit as I am being advised (forcefully) not to try anything other that gentle flat rides of a couple of kms for at least a few more months, so I can wait.(in fact I’d rather not have the temptation of having it sitting in my garage?).
Looking at the dates it could be the carbon rear frame as the only non base component and the dates for the CF Base are related to which has the most orders? Possibly!
I think that the delivery dates on the website have been amended recently, but looking at the new dates, 3rd week of August for the base model in Red is the earliest dispatch, and then only in M, L and XL.
Are the frames for all models the same with coloured stickers?
If not, maybe the frames...
