    Bike size

If you don’t change any part of the saddle position, the angle should not change as you raise it. This is largely irrelevant as most people need to adjust saddle position in a number of planes to be comfortable and pedal as effectively as possible. This is probably more important on a road bike...

    Bike size

The seat angle doesn’t change. The angle of an arc is constant no matter ho far you extend the length of each side. What changes is that as you raise a saddle (on a seat tube of less than 90 degrees) it moves further to the rear, unless, you slide it forward on the seat rails. This moves sitting...

    Bike size

I'm not clear but are all suggestions above based on the Decoy, as there seems to other makes mixed in which would mean that the geo of each model needs to be considered. I note that the YT sizing chart has a small cross over height for each size, but the sizes seem to me to suggest larger...

Size S 2020 Commencal Meta Power not available until Feb 2020 though☹️, according to the web site.

    Canyon Breakaway sale

I think that the Canyon sizing calculator is focused on inside leg measurement, so does not account for torso and arm length adequately. When I spoke to Canyon they seemed keen to reinforce the suggestion of their calculator. For me, it is the longer seat tube, even in XS 420mm and S 430mm that...

    Buying a Thok Mig...

That is my point about cost price, and I agree about the rear shock prices on the website. However, the Lyrik forks are shown as being €475.00 which is low for a Lyrik retail (maybe they have a back stock to get rid of) and, once the upgrade cost was agreed they sent me a revised proforma as the...

    Buying a Thok Mig...

Yes, that would be the upgrade cost as you say, but in GBP retail the difference would still be c£200.00 or more, so €130.00 seems good value (including swapping on the bike as they are assembled and in stock apparently). There will be some margin on the cost price to Thok which will have...

    Buying a Thok Mig...

I guess we will see, but the quote was to upgrade to the Lyrik fork. As I understand it, the fork externals are the same, so I wouldn’t be unduly troubled if it was a damper upgrade.

    Buying a Thok Mig...

I was in exactly the same place re my ability v spec, but don’t want to be immediately thinking that I ‘want’ to upgrade. It seems to me that apart from, possibly, the fork damping on the Yari, the spec on the MIG would be good for me too. Even better, when I spoke to Thok the upgrade cost was...

    Buying a Thok Mig...

@Zimmerframe - Thanks for the thoughts and happy to update as I go along. Can’t believe that I did three Triathlons last year and then get clobbered with this, but being positive, I’m over half way through chemo so should be all ‘downhill’ from here? @routrax - sorry to jump in on your thread...

    Buying a Thok Mig...

Finally looking at Canyon reviews made me nervous, so ........I have bought a Thok MIG today instead! Great online chat with them about sizes; very reasonable upgrade cost for Lyric forks, in stock and 24 hour changeover of parts to dispatch. I need to transfer some funds to make the payment...

    Buying a Thok Mig...

That (she?) looks great. I’m really torn between one of these and the Spectral:ON, due to the higher spec of the Canyon v lower price in the current sale. Fabulous service from Thok.

    2020 deliveries

Hello Finland - Either way, I would need a Small, so no go for me.

    2020 deliveries

Yes, and there is a dilemma in that also. Plus, I want to get out and start building my fitness before my chemo is over and I am ready to return to work high will be sometime later in September.

    Canyon Breakaway sale

So, is the view that it would be better to wait / choose a bike with an integrated battery and would brand batteries from the Oem providers of motors be preferable to bespoke bike manufacturer solutions (whether provided by an oem motor producer or not)?

    2020 deliveries

Thanks, any idea which might be released in August and in all sizes (Commencal only available in Large in August, others in Feb 2020). Rutland are quoting 60 days on their Focus Jam2 Bosch Pre orders, but that might be a general timescale TBC.

Thanks, that was my thinking for my purchase too. It would be great to know what you think of the overall quality and finish when it arrives.

    2020 deliveries

Could anyone, from experience, comment on the likely delivery dates for 2020 bikes please? I’m on the search for my first emtb, but unsure whether to consider waiting for the 2020 releases, or go for it now. Not helped by the fact that I have a birthday coming up in mid August and manufacturers...

    Buying a Thok Mig...

Hi, Which one did you go for? I was looking at these (among others) but can’t decide whether that as a novice emtb’er I should still consider the jump to the MIG R from the base MIG at nearly £1k extra.
