Anyone know the algorithm for remaining distance?

Ah there's a thought. I bet I was in '2' when I looked and my wife probably in '1'. Thanks Alan

Anyone know the algorithm for remaining distance?

So, wife and I both went out today - did 30 miles. Both batteries fully charged. At the end, hers said there were 24 miles remaining, mine said 18. When I looked at the percentage battery left, hers was 45% and mine was 44%. The voltages were the same to within a tenth of a volt. So, does...

    Yes, she knows

    Bike sizing

The issue I found with dropper posts is that you can't then attach anything to the tubes, such as lights or a rack. Unless I'm missing something? Alan

    Review 2020 Decathlon E-ST 520

I'll update my user manual soon, but pressing On/Off and Minus together gives you access to 4 more numbers. I believe one of them is the actual battery voltage and the other is the percentage used. The reason I think that is that fully charged, one says 42.1 and the other 100. After an 8 mile...

Answered What does this lock/unlock switch do?

On my Deraillieur gears there's a small switch which says 'lock/unlock' and is set to the lock position. Does anyone know what it does? It seems to make no difference to normal operation no mater what position it's in. Cheers Alan

    Another (probably silly) battery/motor question

Thank you - that all makes sense.

    Clonk from the rear

OK - took it in. The culprit? A bent chain link. It got replaced and all is well. I wasn't aware they were that sensitive :D

    Another (probably silly) battery/motor question

We were out yesterday. Both on the same bikes - both did the same distance - both batteries fully charged at the start. But after a stop at 5 miles, my display said I had 32 miles left and the wifes had 42 miles left. Now on the route we had a couple of big hills. At the time, I was thinking I...

No, mine doesn't do that. Nor does my wifes' one.

    Review 2020 Decathlon E-ST 520

Thank you. Since I wrote that report, I've written my own user manual which explains how to adjust things much better than the manual that comes with the bike. I've uploaded it ontot his forum but in case you can't find it, here it is. I hope it's useful. Alan Update - new version uploaded...

    Clonk from the rear

Pete, that is exactly what it sounds like. I'll pass the message on.

    Clonk from the rear

I'll have a check tomorrow - thanks. I do have a bike lift. I doubt the chain has moved on the front sprocket - as I said, it was working until we stopped for a rest. After we started again, wifey was up and down the gears (went the wrong way and got confused) and it started after that - so it...

It has a Brose motor, I think.

    Clonk from the rear

It could be that, but the gearing doesn't change. Yes, it's now booked in for a service and checkup on Thursday. I'll look up on adjusting the gears. Thanks for the hint. Alan

    Clonk from the rear

My wifes EST-520 has developed a clonk from the rear where the chainwheel is. It seems to be when she presses hard(ish) on the pedals, the lower part of the derailleur gears (the bit that moves back and forwards as you change gear) moves forwards slightly and then there's a clonk as something...
