This is weird. I've always been taught that you ride with the leg extended fully when the pedal is in the lowest position. So, I could never get my foot on the ground like the picture above with a bent knee.
Is my technique all wrong for MTBs?

I've got the Thule Easyfold XT 2. Works nicely and the 2 x 23kg bikes bikes feel secure. Have to take the batteries out though (I'm still investigating this to see if I can get away without doing that)
A day of firsts
First time for falling off. Going down a trail and I wanted to move over to an easier bit. I didn't see the rock in the way - bike hit it and just stopped. I went sideways. Ended up on the ground laughing (and glad the wife was too far behind to take pics). I didn't realise at...
Maybe, like some motorcycle racing, they will be given a standard bike and they can adjust certain things (suspension, brakes, gearing) but have to leave the frame and motor alone.

I don't have a problem - I just have to take the battery out (Decathlon EST-520's) otherwise the long strut won't go through. Someone above has suggested repositioning the struts, but I tried that and it's a right faff. The straps and channels are fine for the bikes, but I wouldn't want any...
I keep saying - when it's over the centre stem, it catches when you rotate it to make it portrait mode. The mount head is too close. Maybe a genuine garmin one is longer, but this one isn't.

Cheers. We did try that yesterday, but couldn't make it work. Our connectors are Decathlon ones and they do seem exposed. Maybe we'll have another look at the clamps.
Not a cheap option, but in my opinion, apart from 1 fault, it's perfect.
Starting with mounting it. You put the mount on the tow bar (hitch) and then press a lever down to lock it in place. The tension is adjustable and when it's locked, it doesn't move. You can also lock the lever so theives...
Thanks all - I'll take your advice and look for a fixed one.
The Garmin mount can't go the other side - it's not long enough and the garmin hits the end of the stem when it's rotated. It was the same with the other mount.

I found that with the seat in the correct position, I was putting too much weight on my wrists for my liking, so I got an adjustable stem off Amazon for £15. It fits well, seems solid and makes a LOT of difference. The gear lever cable is a bit tight on full left lock now, but I can live with...
Thanks both for the informative answers. I'll loosen the locking nut when I go out. I am using tubes, not tubeless.
As for the Argos tool, I'll have a search for it. Could be good to keep in the car.
I've purchased some adapters so I can use my electric car pump (with gauge). They should be here tomorrow and I'll try then and report back.
I've got a decent gauge but only for schraeders.
