This long weekend is going to be a great one. Anyone in Christchurch New Zealand want to ride at Craigieburn this long weekend?
Flexy on time so can do 11th, 12th that look dry.
From what i've read here - the Specialised has some reliability issues vs the Giant that seems to be pretty trustworthy.
I'm not on a Reign- but a Trance- and loving it 6 months in. I would have preferred the Reign- but happy with the performance of the Yamaha motor and feel of the ride.
I'm in Christchurch. The Rotovegas trails are brilliant but technically mellow vs my local. Mostly manmade too. Been years since i've ridden there actually. I must go back!
We have a bike park with similar trails to Rotovegas - but I like to ride the other side on natural trails that do cause...
Like iv'e said the terrain here is sharp lava rocks and square edged extensively. Not wooded forests (well there are but I ride mostly on tech trails). On a 25KG bike that you cant unweight at the rear as well as a traditional bike its a recipe for snake bites. I'm 72KG. Been a Mtber since the...
Tubeless of course. Never heard of Cushcore with tubes. The rocks I ride are lava and very shard edged in places. Fingers crossed! And yes I run 35 + PSI and was still getting snake bites.
As for the cushcore. The front tracks through rocks without being 'pinged' offline. I could not believed...
His opinions are a little ego driven. I would take his views with a pinch of salt.
After fitting the front wheel today I agree about it being a PITA. WOW. I did manage to work out a technique though with a lot of sweating and swearing 😅
I'm not looking forward to fitting the rear. I'm also...
Trust me. It aint. Ive had it pumped up solid and the lava rocks here in the trails cause lots of dings and sharp hits. With ebikes being so heavy and long too- they tend to slam into obstacles more being not as easy to un weight the rear. Ive ridden bikes since the 90's and never had this...
The YouTube video explains why this is happening. Sadly all it needs is some tension on the unit that flicks up and hits frame. Weird that it's not done out of the box by Trek! Good luck with warranty.
