Boost ( 3mm offset/52mm chainline) or Non Boost to match whatever rear hub you have *
*A boost rear hub is 148mm. Non boost is 142mm..............there are also 135 rear hubs. No idea which you have on that...
Keep in mind the Fox 38 Factory is their top of the range full enduro fork, and not many of us are likely to be riding it as hard as pro riders.
I set SAG as 25% with all compression and rebound open/fast. Thereafter I use factory recommended settings as a start point and adjust until I am...
I base my settings on what performs best rather than what Fox or RS say!! I fail to see how Fox etc can make recommendations for a fork when it could be fitted to different bikes with differing head angles and trail etc.
Both my forks are supple at the top of the stroke, sit mid stroke mostly...
It is a valid point that a chain has one a dvantage over a carbon belt............ie it has some sideways flex, and will operate when not fully inline. It may well be that other manufacturers pursuing the combined motor/gearbox design, decide that retaining the chain rather than a carbon belt...
mmm...I think "Wales" is a ctually welsh for rain. Just so our foriegn visitor is not confused "Wales" is a ctually called "Cymru" once in Wales:giggle:
Well done.............I have actually seen that method somewhere else but cant remember where now! Another method is to ride it as is on a good trail with drops and jumps...........then go back and see if that has done the trick.
I do not think it is excess grease that causes this problem but...
I would just make sure the bead on each side is clean so there is less risk of the tyre not sealing when you reinflate it. The rest is of not significance. IPA should help to make sure the beads are clean.
I assume you are arriving at Calais and unless you want to spend more time driving than riding I would get straight onto the m25/m4 and head west to S.Wales. There is more than enough riding there to keep you happy.....Bike Park Wales, Afan, Llandegla, Coed y Brenin, Brechfa...
I have the Whyte E160 RSX and I love it..............but what I was pointing out is that it is easy to strip weight off it, as long as you only want to use it as a trail bike on mild trails. As it stands it has heavy but puncture resistant tyres, hybrid DT Swiss wheelset (prioritising strength...
Not sure why folk are talking a bout SRAM or even Shimano. EMTB is dominated as far as motors are concerned by players not previously engaged in the bike market...............the exception being Shimano of course. It is a matter of "core competence".......and I wonder who in fact makes motors...
I have said this many times before!! If a bike frame maker a ctually specified what their "carbon" frame actually consisted of I might be happy to buy a bike with a carbon frame. Saying it is carbon is meaningless!! There is clearly a difference between brands probably mostly to do with who...
Not sure why you posted details of a 142mm rear hub.................the Levo rear hub is boost...ie 148mm.
I would have thought the safest way to get definitive advise is to contact Specialized or a Specialized LBS. As far as I know Specialized stated that the hub internals were DT Swiss...
I agree but to be clear on one point relevant to this new Pinion gearbox/motor combo, electric motors rarely fail on EMTBS.....it is the elements of the crankshaft that most often fails......bearings, sprag clutches, torque sensors.............or the components on the PCB. I would be interested...
It is bound to be lighter with no mech and no cassette..just one sprocket...but I agree I dont see that as a big deal. More relevant is that is negates the need for what can be pretty expensive mechs and cassettes on the higher end bikes. The mech is always vulnerable and the cassette always...
