Dalby is pretty miserable unless you are on an ebike. Hamsterley is much more fun and would be quicker for you to drive to I would have thought.
Grenoside and Wharncliff at Sheffield are really good too and even closer.

The plus tyres are prone to squirming & deforming on the front if you are pushing hard, particularly when going downhill when more weight ends up on the front of the bike. You might feel this as the front washing out or have the sensation of loosing grip when the tyre is actually folding.

Mondraker e crafty is a great Bosch powered bike and Eddie has a lot of success with the KTM’s.
The Shimano motors have plenty of grunt though, I’m 112kg and have no issues running on a small battery.
You should be able to pull the cable out by hand. They pop out with a click. Just make sure you pull the plug not the wire. I have the tool but really think it is only necessary for the blanking plugs. Be careful if you do decide to go with pliers not to crush the cable
I had similar issues. Turned out I had the shifter jammed up against the brake which was putting tension on it causing it to bind. Just moved it a bit so nothing was touching and it’s been ok since.

Sorry I cannot help there. I just remember reading a while ago it was one of the things you need the PC interface for.
Maybe one of the guys who have an interface may be able to help out....
One thing you could try is updating the firmware as the systems may do a self check during the process...
