I updated to 4.6.0 a few days ago without issue, android 9. This update too a bit longer than usual, but still it was only minutes. Months ago, a firmware update failed and it bricked the bike. I was able to restart the update and it completed the process, all good.

I like it. Dust cover looks a bit small and the gap too big, but that can be refined. Loctite should help, but you might not be able to get the rotor bolts torqued to spec. The printed part may deform or flex when tightening. As for the legality, a disclaimer is should suffice.

Intermittent issues are tough to deal with. Sometimes it's a loose or damaged wire, but both those codes seem like internal to the motor assembly. Nice to hear that Commencal helped you out.

I'm a bit surprised to learn that Bosch firmware updates are dealer only. Specialized and Shimano firmware updates are available on their cellphone apps. I have noticed an improvement on some of the Shimano updates and believe one should be on the current firmware, no matter which brand.

FYI, you can update the firmware and change basic settings with the free orginal e-tube app, just don't forget the Bluetooth pairing code after the initial setup. The only functional benefit that I found of the PCE1 is resetting the Bluetooth pairing code. You cannot change location, wheel or...

Were you able to go through Shimano directly? Let us know how the swap goes. Last time I dealt with Shimano, it went very well, even though I had to go through a LBS.

Apparently it is a separate app from the standard e-tube app and has no benefit for e8000 users since all the info is on the display.
