I have 2.6” x 27.5” Minions on 40mm internal DT Swiss wheels and they are working well. Maxxis recommend 35mm but have a range 30-40mm for the 2.6 “ WT tyres.

I had to beef up where the feet meet the stand as it kept bending with the extra weight of the eebs. One of the feet snapped off too so I welded it back on and added some extra to the other side.
Thought I might need to extend the feet to go further under the bike but once...

I like to run at least 185mm cranks on my chopper as it helps lift the bike over those pesky speed bumps without having to take a break from pedalling.

Generally when you are riding downhill you freewheel and your cranks/pedals are level (there are exceptions, berms etc). So there should be virtually no difference in this regard.
