What sort of mudguard you got there? It's probably helping a lot. I fitted a homemade thingy to keep water out the main pivot and bearings have been good ever since.
@Zimmerframe I'm having difficulty seeing play from your video clip! And I've got my glasses on! You could buy a new cover. They aren't that expensive! Just serviced the forks on mine, man it's a great bike!
I weigh around 70kg. I don't think weight is a factor. Water getting inside the motor is the problem I keep having. Barely wash it at all these days!! Wipe down with a damp cloth if it's lucky. And it's kept in a dry garage. Although I do sometimes ride in wet conditions. Crank bearings keep on...
Hello @High Rock Ruti,
Long answer... I've only ridden about 500 miles since I had my motor rebuilt by Performance Line Bearings (@Bearing Man) so it's a bit early to say anything about durability. My brand new motors: 1st motor lasted 1100 miles (about 8 months) , 2nd motor lasted 1800 miles...
As an owner of a Kenevo 2019 model with a 2 year warranty which has now expired and having had the 4th motor repaired by Performance Line bearings, I was looking forward to new serviceable motors being the focus of the latest Eurobike exhibition, but as suspected the motors were smaller...
Thanks @Zimmerframe. The two lights means 10-19%, so is consistent with Mission Control but obviously not with the cut-off. I suspect your right and its something in the battery. Which is now out of warranty & I haven't another to try. Sounds like I don't have much choice except go to the...
Hi all,
Kenevo 2019 Comp model
I wonder if someone else has had this. According to the user manual:
"At 10% battery charge remaining, the system will start to reduce the amount of support. At 1%, the system switches off the motor support."
However, mine switched off support with 16% left...
Try Decathlon. They sell Brose motor blanking connector kits for ebikes they sell. They are probably an expensive way to buy o rings but at least you can buy them.
Hello brother! 🤣 My vote goes to the Trek - looks proper beefy and all the parts are easily accessible for maintenance and I love the Trek Black/Marigold to Red fade colour, Dark Prismatic/Trek Black - pretty cool too! The Scott Patron looks good, but I'm not a fan of hiding everything away as...
I still own a 2018 Kenevo and like you have really formed a bond with the bike despite a battery failure in the first 1000 miles and several motor changes and recently a motor service by Performance Line Bearings, as its now out of warranty. It's now coming up to 6000 miles and I've started...
@Xman I've only used Specialized tyres: Butcher Grid front, Eliminator Grid rear and Hill Billy front - when it's really muddy. 2.6" wide. Not everyone likes these tyres but I think they work great and are reasonably priced.
@Xman I have used Tannus inserts for 3 years and found them to be excellent. On one occasion the tyre sidewall split and it didn't puncture! I used one size smaller inner tube than needed for the tyre size as recommended. Never pinch flatted or had any punctures due to thorns etc. In my...
Hi @FireWithin, I have an alloy Creo which recently had a new motor fitted. The original motor had quite a large movement same as you described. Also when pedalling out of the seat there was a light knock every revolution. The replacement motor shows no such movement. However, whilst rocking the...
Follow up on my previous post. I've had my 1300mile/3 month old Creo SL Mahle motor replaced under warranty due to excessive play in the crank bearings. That mileage is nothing for a road bike. Very disappointing. I've owned a Kenevo since Nov 2018 and it's had 3 motors under warranty and has...
Hi @Zerograv80, did you get to the bottom of this problem? I think I might have a problem with my Creo SL motor. There seems to be excessive play in the crank bearings, noticeable when rocking the crank arms, with a regular, once per crank rev, 'knock' when pedaling out of the seat.
Cheers Brian
