I agree. I wanted a Specialised Levo but for the same spec as my Orbea Wild I would have paid almost double and at that time Brose motors were failing left right and centre.
For the riding I do I would NEVER fit bar ends. I saw someone go over the handle bars because one of his bar ends got caught up on a branch. They are an accident waiting to happen in wooded areas.
I would have to disagree, they are very unstable. I have no experience of the tripod ones. They look more stable but that's a lot of money to pay simply to stand your bike upside down. I use a polystyrene block wrapped in electrical tape under the end of the handlebars where the motor control...
I won't be getting out much on my Orbea Wild over the winter months. It's kept in an attached garage but is there anything I should be doing to keep it in good condition, especially with regard to the battery and tubeless tyres?

All this talk of weight, battery power, torque and power output is all well and good but for me it was simply that the SL did not give me enough assistance on the uphills. I wanted an EMTB for the assistance so it seemed logical to get my hands on as much of it as I could. Yes it's heavier but...
I changed from a Trek Powerfly to an Orbea Wild. I bought the Wild on line without a trial ride. When I first got on it I thought I had made a dreadful mistake but after just a couple of hours I got used to it and could not imagine going back. I love the bike but if I had done a test ride...
It depends on you and the type of riding you do. I was fine with SPD's for cross country riding but feel terrified of using them on gnarly down hill at bike parks. Others seem to manage. I also found SPD's to be better for uphill as you get some benefit from both the upstroke and the...
Some years ago I had a similar pain. I felt sure it was a joint or cartilage issue but it only came on when I walked downhill. After a couple of years of tolerating this a good physio told me to stretch my hamstring muscle regularly by putting my heel on a table and bending my head towards my...
No angst simply interested in why someone would advise specifically against a convertible helmet. mxh and Doomanic understood that, others seem to be having difficulty.
Fair enough, keep up the good work, but IMO sarcasm, irony, subtlety and self deprecating humour tend to lose their meaning on a forum. Unless of course one is aware of the writing style and character of the contributor. I understand you a little better now. :) For my part I'm not saying I...
Yes all fine and dandy but, as I said earlier, I'm not questioning the benefits of a full face helmet. Your opening statement specifically advises against buying a convertible FF helmet.
Really? that's a sweeping, inaccurate statement. I was a rock climber and mountaineer for 55 years before buying an EMTB and used to run 50 km per week.

I have to agree with you with regard to some bikes, Specialised springs to mind, which are way overpriced IMO but I managed to get an Orbea Wild FS H20 with 160mm Fox suspension, Swiss DT wheels, Bosch Gen 4 motor, Shimano brakes and dropper post fitted for under £4000 (EU 4700) from Bikester in...
Of course the benefits of a FF are common sense but that is NOT what I was questioning. I was referring to the advice about the removable chin guard which is why I responded to and quoted the relevant post and not the OP.
The problem with "waterproof shoes" is that there is ALWAYS a hole at the top:)
Waterproof shoes, seriously is there such a thing? I have a pair of 5.10 Freeriders that absorb water better than a sponge. I also have a pair of Shimano shoes with a cover over the lace area that do quite a good...
