The crank KaroKonig uses are made by Miranda. Miranda makes crank arms with multiple Q. The Q8, Q8FB, the Q16 etc.
All that changes is the flare of the crank arm. I have used the Q8 and the Q8FB. What Q is best for you depends on your stance. How wide a distance between your feet is comfortable...
I am not quite sure of your idea. The battery support aluminum square rod goes down the down tube and is affixed by the screws you note. The rod extends down beyond those two screws. It supports the battery so it can't be cut short. I would not be inclined to cut a hole in the downtube for fear...
Remember "Q" does not have anything to do with the motor. It has to do with how far the crank arms flare out. You need enough flare to clear the chainstays but not so much that your feet are too far apart to be comfortable.
Here is an image and some measurements I made for the CEF50 thread...
Just a few notes after getting my CEF50's. There is very little room on the downtube for a bottle battery. I ordered the smallest that I could find and they just fit. I wrote an article about making my DIY bottle extender.
With the cef50 there are a lot of batteries being used and many are...
They work by sensing the voltage on the two batteries. It disconnects the lower voltage battery and lets the bike run off the higher voltage battery until it drops to the level of the lower. Then it turns both batteries on until one/both drift away from each other and are just too different to...
Those switches are not the same and have advantages and disadvantages that have to do with how the batteries are charged. The also can take up a lot more space. I wrote up a description on this forum on multiple battery switches, around here somewhere....
If the locals are only a "little meh" about eMTb you are doing ok :)
Kayaking and cycling are naturals together. eMTB is gaining more and more acceptance but there are pockets of discrimination. Different administrative authorities can be more or less enlightened in the same area.
Great way to...
They are trying to get a distributor to sell them motors and batteries. Their current clients are in Japan that have better access to the motors and batteries.
How close is the magnet to the sensor? Pics please... and the sensor can rotate on the dropout. Make sure it lines up with the magnet on your rotor and then lock-tite it in.

Good news. A gentleman just drove up knocked on the door and said I think I have a bike frame for you. It was delivered to the wrong address, 30 miles away and the guy was kind enough to drive all the way here to return it to me :)
