Done a couple of rides now with the CushCore installed and I have to say I like it (initially I was sceptical and worried about adding more rotating mass to the rear wheel). There's the obvious rim protection that I value but I love the feeling of it. The feeling of it acting as a volume reducer...
Made a frame stand to get the rear wheel off the ground. I don’t have anywhere to mount a bike clamp and don’t really need a folding bike stand cluttering up my small shed.
A bit of aluminium extrusion and a few brackets. Way more stable than it looks. Probably due to the weight of the motor...
I’ll likely be wearing my newly acquired full face on planned trips to the Alps, Bike Park Wales and a Jumps and drops course I have this year. My normal lid will still be my most often worn helmet for regular rides I’m sure
@Mario Antony I’m not knocking the Dropframe. If it works for you that’s all that counts. I think personally if I already rode wearing the Dropframe (I currently wear a Fox Speedframe Pro) I think I’d have posted this forum thread as I’d still be considering a full face.
I agree. The Fox Dropframe is a weird helmet in my opinion. Just sits mid way between a Trail lid and a Full Face but doesn't seem to protect anything extra than your ears...the things that are potentially lowest on my list of things to protect on my head
Thanks for all the advice and information. Got myself down to my local bike shop and snapped up a Fox Proframe RS that was going for less than full price. Super happy
Cheers

Thanks so much for all the replies. Lots of experience based advice which is always the best kind. I was half dreading the flood of "If you think you need a full face then you're riding trails above your pay grade".
Many thanks again.
Cheers Crispy
Thanks for your reply. It sounds like the wearing of a full face lid is more common than I’d originally thought.
I have my choices narrowed down to the Fox Proframe, Smith Mainline and Endura M500
Thanks for sharing your experience and stories. Sounds like a full face definitely has its place when riding anything that has a modicum of danger and risk.
Hope you’re all good now
