I appreciate the feedback. I’ll wait until I can ride it with someone. After a gnarly crash a couple years ago, I am more hesitant to be far from trailheads riding difficult trails by myself. Too much can go wrong.
I appreciate the feedback. Definitely in pain now. I am hoping to be walking and light hiking by October 1 for a trip to Wyoming I planned 6 months ago.
I wouldn’t trust that rim. Failure on the wrong section of trail could be catastrophic. The cost of a new rim is well worth my safety.
I was thinking bout riding Palm Canyon Epic this fall. I would be riding alone. Would it be unwise to do this trail on a solo ride?
I just had my hip replacement surgery this morning. I had to switch doctors for insurance reasons. I like this doctor better and he did anterior. There is fairly considerable post surgery pain, but well worth having my hip back. Doctor says I’ll be back riding in early October, but should...

Just installed the Schwalbe Big Betty in the rear and Magic Mary up front. Gonna give these a try. i
I was running the Continental Kryptotals front and rear. I liked the way they rode, but didn’t like their durability. If these aren’t good, I’ll go back to Maxxis.

Photos below are from about 2 weeks ago. I’ve seen quite a few on the trails as well. I ran over a Diamondback Rattlesnake a couple days after this, but didn’t get a photo. It was too late to bale off the bike, so I just lifted my legs and ran the snake over. He hissed and struck. A kid on...
Thanks all again for the information, keep it coming. Surgery is scheduled for 7/27. My doctor just confirmed he is doing anterior. This is really good news.
