FYI I just received a notice from ProBikeSupply in the USA that their in-stock LSL's are 25% off.

I figure Specialized is probably going to be clearing stock before they announce the Gen 2 LSL.
Edit: Looks like I'm a few...
Yeah, local Specialized dealer doesn't have one, shame about the part number.
Thank you very much. Not the kind I'm looking for but it's good to have a alternative reference.
Anyone know the part number and/or proper name for the small nylon clip on the seatstay used to keep the rear brake hose clear of the spokes? It's missing from my build kit and doesn't seem to show up in the small parts schematics except in photos.
Edit: Turns out to be part number S206500009.
For what it's worth, I've taken to using a Leatherman Style PS - mainly for the pliers, but everything else is a plus. I was on top of Mt Wilson with a flat and spent close to an hour roughing up my fingers trying to remove a sticky tubeless valve nut so I could put in a tube. That was something...
I've been guilty of not putting in enough attention and effort to get my suspension dialed in as well as it should be (particularly the rear), so anything that makes it quicker and more convenient is a big plus.
Thanks @yolo_MTB . My dealer did the install last spring and it's working great. I can confirm that you can run solely on the extender, which is a nice option since it has a better weight/capacity ratio than the powertube. It's a bit more hassle than I can be bothered with since you have to...
Be honest with yourself about what kind of riding you're going to do. A KSL might take some of the fun and challenge out of XC riding.
Can't speak for range and not too much technical riding yet (sidelined with motor warranty).
Pros:
- Light/bike-like
- Looks more or less like a normal bike
-...
As far as I know, only the Flight Attendant version of the Zeb has the domed air shaft. I haven’t seen that air shaft available for aftermarket sales either.
Trying to visualize (my KSL is stuck at the dealer) - you're leaving it partially bolted to the frame? Any issues with putting strain on the cables when you drop the motor?
I managed to do it and no kidding it was not fun: Kept me up until 3:30AM on a Sunday getting it to slip through. The Park internal cable routing tool was no help so IMHO skip that and save some time.
Pull the rockguard (or whatever they call it) and look through the gaps in the chainstay yoke...
I know the washer you're talking about. It wasn't in the documentation and I don't remember having a headset that used one of those before, so I hadn't used it. However, when I was trying to sort things out on Friday I had the same thought and gave it a test-fit. It seemed promising enough, but...
Finished my KSL build on Sunday and took it out for a few brief rides around the neighborhood. I ran into two issues I wonder if anyone else has encountered and solved:
1) Headset cover stays stationary instead of rotating with the fork. This causes the lower spacers to grind against the stem...
For what it's worth, while I haven't yet taken apart the original 38 that was the subject of the post (very soon though), I prepped a different 38, replacing the tokens with a DSD Runt, burnishing the bushings, and checking the air shaft for excess grease. I haven't ridden it hard enough yet to...
Looks like the first time I did a sensor search the sensor for power didn't appear on the list of available sensors. I figured it may have been under the generic-sounding "ebike" sensor, but apparently not. It's linked up now and will give it a test ASAP.
How do you get a Garmin Edge to show rider power from the TCU2? So far I have cadence and speed working fine, but haven't been able to find a power field that reads from TCU2.
The obstructing traffic code in California on canyon roads is failing to use a turnout when there are six cars stacked up behind you. The code for passing a cyclist is to maintain a minimum 3 foot separation. If anyone was committing an offense, it was the driver here.
I don't always ride with...
