I went through Anna Chen at Changzhou Fieldebikes. Great to deal with. The upper battery mount was 12 dollars but I ordered a DPC245 V3 and a wheel speed sensor kit along with the battery mount as spares. All parts were $92 US. They air shipped it and shipping was 24 dollars. Adding the...
As an update to this, I contacted a Bafang supplier on Aliexpress and ordered a new upper battery mount. All I did was tell her the battery model and she was able to find the correct one. She sent a pic to confirm. It took a while but I received it and everything was good. It uses a...
Just as a update, I had the chain on my bike (cheap Sram NX that came stock) start making some noise a ride or two ago. I got a little over 200 miles (I usually rewax at 250 miles on my shimano chains and never hear a peep) before it started squeaking. Gave it a boiling water bath followed by...
I've used this oil in 2 magura (MT5) bikes, two shimano (m7100 and m8120) bikes, 2 trp (Slate) bikes and one sram (DB8) bike with no problems. A quart is 20 bucks and lasted me all of those bikes.

I was incorrect. I was referring to the standard xt downshifting (to smaller cogs) two at a time by pushing the smaller lever. I almost exclusively shift in pairs both up and down anymore.
Maybe going to the 10 speed hybrid set up like @ChillyWilly the changes between gears will be enough that...
I was looking over specs on the xt linkglide shifter and it looks like you can only upshift (to bigger cogs) 2 gears and downshift (to smaller cogs) 1 gear at a time. Is this true?
This may be a deal breaker for me. I’m truly spoiled by the double upshift.
Alot of people make a flap out of an old innertube and use double stick tape to cover pivots. I used @Zimmerframe method of trimming a spare zip tie front fender on the rear of my E-Mythique. Might be able to work something like this in...
I asked a US ebike repair center about Bafang motors and this was their reply;
"We have a kit for them but are not servicing them yet because it is almost as much to have us service as it is to replace. But they are not difficult for a do it yourself job with our kit.
Sincerely,
Owner...
I would love a Sentier seeing as how I have an E-Mythique, but unfortunately we'll never have one in the USA. I even thought of seeing if they'd ship me one without a battery since it uses the same battery as my current bike. At least then it could be shipped by air.
The only thing I worry about is frame hardware (pivot bolts, trunion bolts, etc) but there are options to get those made. I believe @TCFlowClyde had some hardware made for a reasonable price.
The bearings appear to be standard bearings that shouldn’t be hard to source. I plan on keeping this...
Its funny, the only brakes I've had an issue with rubbing are the Magura's they are designed to work with. I've got them on Sram and Shimano brakes currently and don't have an issue. I also have TRP brakes but they use their own 2.3 mil rotors.
I swear by thick rotors. I've started running Magura MDR-C rotors on all my bikes regardless of brake brand. They are nice, 2.3 mil rotors that are 25 bucks shipped to the house. I haven't had to true a rotor in a year.
That being said, I found this bike the other day on a killer sale. I looked it over and it seems like it may fit the bill. Long reach, nice chainstays, and decent specs. It has a 66 degree headtube angle but is approved for a 140mm fork. Throw a 140mm fox 36, decent brakes and some double...
In the US, there are not many options for a hardtail eeb at all. We just got the Canyon Grand Canyon last month.
I picked up a Yamaha Torc for my daughter last year second hand cheap. I remember riding it a little and thinking how much fun an aggressive hardtail would be. I looked pretty...
