I'm pretty sure I just used a 1/4 inch drive socket and it fit fine. I don't remember having any trouble removing the motor and I have done that to 2 different E-Mythique's.
I know several people that have tried and were sucessufull. I tried it with a fork I had but it was a 170mm 29er fork and it was too slack. It made it handle very strange. I was just trying what I had. If I find a cheap 29 fork I would defiantly try it though.
I gave up on ordering a battery though Bafang. They never got back to me so I ordered one through Changzhou Fieldebikes. It wound up being a little more than I was expecting after shipping and fee's but not terrible.
Odd thing is they said it would ship air. I didn't think they could ship...
Funny you mention that. My bike lost the battery release trigger and I lost the key. I ordered an upper battery mount, spare display and controller and rear wheel sensor all at the same time. I’m trying to build up spares so I won’t have to be without the bike. I truly enjoy riding it.
That’s the plan for now. I’m going to order a new battery as soon as I hear something back from them. I will then either take the bad battery apart or send it to a repair center to fix it and have a spare.
TLDR; I've been trying to get Bafang to warranty my bad battery. We are pretty much out of luck with warranty. Bafang says that cannot warranty anything out to an individual, that they can only deal with dealers. I bought my bikes through Planet Cyclery and they closed their doors a few...
I put over 1000 miles on a regular Moro with a 170mm Zeb, Fox Float X shock, MT5 brakes, and Maxxis 27.5x2.8 tires with cushcore. It was a great bike, but if you ride any other "modern" bike you can tell a big difference. I don't know what the seat tube angle is, but its most definitely slack...
I can’t remember right off, I ditched them for regular, stainless, hex bolts. I do remember they were the security torx with the little nipple in the middle.
I never found good actual torque specs, but I probably over torqued them. lol I ran them TIGHT. The motor mounts on this thing are really funny. I’ve had to pull the motor twice due to cable routing and discovered they are odd. They have a sleeve that both bolts go into and the motor kinda...
The trick here is to send it out to Craig at Avalanche and have him work his magic on it. He can tune it for your weight, riding style and the Relay.

I went through alot of trial and error before I got the motor mounts on mine to stop loosening (I also had the PW-X2 on the original moro - yellow one). It was always the drive side. I replaced the bolts with regular hex bolts and tried blue loctite. That would not work. Eventually I had to...
I think the "mid-powered", long travel, mid sized battery is where ebikes are heading. A 170mm mid power bike with a 500wh battery coming in around 21kg in an enduro build seems to be the ticket. The big manufactures are figuring it out with the YT Decoy SN, Relay PNW, and the new Trek E-Slash...
I had the same problem. I went to adjust the startup angle on my wife's bike (Vitus E-Mythique with the M510) with the besst tool and it would not let me do anything. It kept giving me the speed limit error. Then like an idiot I changed the speed limit to 25kph (it was originally 32kph and...
There not exactly noise cancelling, but that's what I like about them. I like to be able to hear what's going on around me.

I've had 2 sets over the past 5-6 years and love them.
