That's clear.
I prefer also the mullet. But only if i can keep reasonable geometry, no way for less than 63.5° for fork angles. On the CEF50 for exemple i can't use longer shock to compensate lower rear wheel and i stay in 29°.
Check with digital level your fork angle, if less than 63.5 mount...
I have ordered one also last week. For the moment jim haven't said something about increased delay than 40 days ? but i prefer that they take time to provide stronger arms than sent one who brake during use (i'm 100 kg and i ride on high mountain breaking tracks ).
Congratulations mikelikesbikes for your job and your feedback. To be honest i'm afraid to doing myself the batterie and taking account of cost of custom made, i prefer purchase it to reconized company.
I find also more better to have rigid cage to solidarise cells.

Mine build around an bafang M820 cost me less than 4000 euro. BUT it's because i'm an "serial builder" . i purchase components following destoking offer and i store it (i have always enough to build 1 or 2 bikes).
That said, i'm agree with you, DIY bike is mostly not a good economic choice...
Hi. How many weight are your tires ? your battery ? the size of your frame ? i'm also surprised of the less than 20 kg. with spring shock (more than 0.5 kg) and 38 fork (more than 2 kg).
i ride in the same tracks than you. 30km with 2000 D+ and D- = high mountain).
i like the 2 motors. I ride on the same tracks, But not in the same way. I take the M820 when i ride with friends whithout assist and we klimbs +- 1500 D+, mostly climb slowly on DFCI at +- 7km/h. To downhill...
