The newer DPC245.3 DIsplay, allows you to use the new Bafang Go+ app. This new app allows you to change parameters of the M510 motor on the fly @ccrdave
I can service Bafang motors and I do live in the UK. Any problems, just pm me👍🏿
Yes, you can install the M560 motor into the E-Mythique. But...
This is how I prefer to run my M820 on my CEF50👍🏿
My startup angle is set so that the motor engages instantly. But the acceleration has been dialed back to give the motor more of a natural feeling. I use a 32t chainring and see no point going higher (imo).
Truth be told, I find that I use thr...
I'm slowly playing around with each setting. Moreso, the startup angle. I recall you mentioned before that thr motor responded too slow in eco, eco+ and trail. I have found that by reducing the angle to 10°, does improve pedal response from stand still. I wouldn't mind experimenting with the 32t...
Curious!!!
Vitus state that their custom firmware on the M510 only allows the motor to achieve a maximum power of 550w.
Ordinarily because it's using a 36v battery, I believed them. However,
the Bafang Go app showed the motor achieving 700w when in the highest level of assist.
With...
I hear you👍🏿
Before I deep dive reprogram the M510, I wouldn't mind trying a 32t chainring. This is the chainring size I use on my E10. I have a feeling that the motor response (the start current) and the motor over-run (stop decay), 'might' benefit from a using a smaller chainring to compensate...
@mike_kelly is correct.
Fortunately, my account with Bafang was setup up a couple of years ago. It is part of the reason why I aid those who build Dengfu and other ebikes, to get the most out of the M510/M600/M500 etc.
On a different note, it looks like I'll need to use my spare DPC245.3...
I'll need to take better pictures (as well as upgrade/program a couple of choice components). But
you're looking at two 2024 X-large emtbs which use the entire Bafang systems, which can both be ridden hard.
Rejoice my tall DIY enthusiasts. We now have more options👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Now, if you'll excuse...
Suntour Durolux forks are pretty decent. They are on the heavier side compared to other brands. But on a full-fat emtb, I don't think it matters as much.
I've got no experience with the Zenon, Auron or Aion Forks or the Triair shocks.
But the Suntour Durolux and RUX forks are decent.
One of...
Oh. You mean the 1.5 tapered fork or 1.8 supertapered fork.
Basically, the E55 is designed for the more common 1.5 tapered fork. Some ebike frames which use headset cable routing can use the newer 1.8 tapered steerer fork which is somewhat ebike specific.
Offset Bushings make shock bushings...
Do you mean 'fork ofset' or 'fork travel'
Either way, the link below will probably explain it better👇🏿

I wonder how easy it would be to retrofit the DP-E165 DIsplay to the CEF50🤔
I don't think any variant or generation of the frame would need reworking.
Moreso, just a revised top tube plate.
...Food for thought!!
Swinging a leg over the Levo and then the CEF50, you don't notice subtle differences. But both are trail emtbs afterall. And both are just as capable as each other.
Obviously, the components between the two will influence the ride characteristics. Suspension components with more adjustability...
So the above shows the Shimano BT-8036 (above) and the Darfon E4C0C (below)
As you can see, the Darfon battery connector is different to the Shimano BT-8036.
So both require specific battery mounts and specific external battery charger attachments.
Unfortunately, I don't have the specific...
The Darfon battery connector is different to the Shimano BT-8035/8036/EN805/EN805 etc.
The lower mounts vary depending which battery type used.
I'll take pictures later which should explain things further and leave links to which lower mount works with which particular battery type👍🏿
Damn it!!!
Looks like the CEF52 is designed for a key lock style battery mechanism.
Oh well. Headset cable variants for the initial batch.
Maybe they'll offer variants without the key hole and simply allow the use of the BM-EN801A battery mount.
Apologies everyone, I should have updated you all on the headset.
I opted to install the headset into my Nukeproof Megawatt. However, it WILL fit in the CEF50.
Truth be told, headset cable routing isn't so bad (imo). Moreso, it depends on what headset is used.
The very fact that this...
I don't think the shock placement and size will change for the CEF50 2024 models.
I know the CEF52 (Shimano Steps) will use the trunion shock design.
The only revisions I'm aware of is the udh and the chainguide provision. Technically, the rear axle will be different to accommodate for the udh...
