Thanks for that. 20 euros delivery - that's a bit too much for me on the cost of a tyre :) I'll have a look at the big betty. I get the impression that eddy currents won't be around for long :(
I've been looking for a rear 27.5 x 2.6 - can't find one. In general they don't seem to be sold. The fronts seem more available but maybe that's because no one bought them. Even wiggle etc have no stock. Pity, I really thought I'd like that tyre.
Gee, you're keen. I just look at that and think I can do without the extra maintenance :ROFLMAO: Have you had any experience with magic mary? That hillbilly looks as though it would be good on the rear too, with mud? It might be a lot better standing up on the rear, with that extra weight bias...
Yes, it amazes me that some people can't wait to buy the newest thing or run the latest upgrade. I always sit back and wait till something is a reasonably known quantity.
I'd already decided not to mod mine until it's out of warranty. Right now, regardless of firmware versions, we don't know what changes are recorded / what can be seen by dealer etc. See post # 375 above.
I'd be asking for a new chain as well due to wear. They are getting off lightly as it is. They should just be sending a new chain ring out rather than getting you to jump through more hoops. I'd also direct them to this topic on this forum, just to let them know that this community is aware of...
A lot of people here use deckas chain rings from ali express - they only go up to 11x. This is what I have. Initially I bought one to test, then I bought a few more thinking they may not last long. They look reversible too - I'll try that out when it starts to look worn.
I've been using el cheapo chain ring (32tooth) for my shimano 12x setup. It is a 12x chain ring. What I found though is that not many manufacturers state what speed their rings are for - it simply isn't stated. I'm at 500km and no trouble. It isn't going to last long, and it is thick and thin...
Downhill isn't my scene, but I would have thought that coil shock is the more heavy duty. Your suspension is really bottomed out on that landing - and your rear tire . I'd want more air in the tire, more air in the forks, and a bigger spring for the shock (or an air shock with enough psi...
I found out, and figured it out - it is exactly as Stato says. I session technical sections that I can't ride. It's usually pretty steep, so I was walking the bike backwards. Now I hold rear end up or pivot bike on rear wheel to turn around.
Using them is probably the one thing most failures have in common. They just aren't that reliable. It's like the motor car industry 30 or 40 years ago, or longer.
How do you know? I used to believe that too, having done it that way for 20 years or so. Another thing I found, is that spokes that feel really hard to tighten aren't necessarily up to tension, and some spokes that tighten easily can be way over tension; granted that is fairly logical.
I don't think it will increase your bb height. Mine are compression dampers - they just slow down the rate at which the shock compresses. This limits the up and down bouncing while you're pedalling. As well as when climbing, I've been using mine on fast smooth flowy berms and jumps and I seem to...
