I've just noticed / realised that the cube in question is carbon fibre. If you want to save some more money and get something that is easier to live with, what about aluminium? And what about the decathlon stilus? Is that cheaper where you are? It seems to get great reviews for a budget...
Just on the rear, tannus with a smaller maxxis welterweight tube. That's inside a 27.5 x 2.6 maxxis dhrII exo. I'm about 80kg and have it at 15psi. It bags out a fair bit when I'm climbing but has been no trouble on drops and jumps which I've been practising on. I've had it for about 300km and...
I've read through all the posts here, and other than trying to make something work, is there any other reason? It's cool if there isn't - I don't mind random insanity
Kicked in the nuts and mauled by a bear, slippery bums and alien violation! The hazards of mountain biking seem to be evolving faster than the sport itself . And the whole violation thing (I wouldn't want to admit to being a victim either) begs the question who or what did the violating...
Funny you say this, I discovered the same thing last night, also while lifting the bike by the top tube. I isolated the movement to the bottom mount. It was actually loose! I had it off about 3 months ago to remove the tokens, cleaned, greased and torqued. I think now I'm going to clean the...
I think there are certain things designed and made to desire flesh. I can imagine during their manufacture a ritual of evil incantation and a sprinkling of goats blood. They've had a fair bit of me too  You could try sprinkling the pins with holy water? Or satisfy them with someone else's...
Thanks horspwr. I wrongfully jumped to a conclusion. I don't normally have things come loose on me - it was loose! Bit of a concern. I had it apart about 3 months ago to remove the tokens - cleaned, greased and torqued. At this point, I think I'll clean the threads of grease and use some contact...
I have a merida e140 LTD (aluminium) 2020 model. It isn't a year old and has about 1500km. I just discovered the bottom shock mount has some play. Would you consider this a warranty issue? The bike hasn't had hard use judging by my low suspension pressures and tyre pressures and I rarely bottom...
It really sounds as though you'd be better off with full sus just to avoid the extra wear and tear that folk here are talking about. Before I bought my emtb I regularly went between my hardtail and full sus clockwork bikes. The hardtail sharpened my limited skills when picking lines etc. It...
Ahh, I had a thought today - just one for the whole day . It was about tight tyres! Why are these aggressive tyres, made for ebikes (more torque for steep climbs), made to run at low pressures, and expected to be used in relatively extreme conditions, so tight? I've probably answered it...
I'm similar. Before each ride, after the small amount of mud has dried, I use brushs - a soft one for the wheels, frame etc, harder one for the pedals. No water. Then I use compressed air - wave it around the seals etc, esp. but get right into the brake calipers to get rid of the dust. Then...
My guess, obvious as it is, would be high tension - one poor spoke holding more tension than it's neighbours. It's also possible that the broken spoke is in the same location as the previous broken spokes. Does the shop measure the tension of the spokes (ie measure them all, find the average...
It's a doozy. Having an insert displaces a fair bit of air. If anything the sealant should last longer. Unless the insert has minimal impact, and the biggest change is that it is an ebike? EG, something to do with usage or temperatures ridden in? What are the variables here: clockwork vs ebike...
You may not need all that weight on the front, but it won't be wasted on the rear. I have maxxis exo tyres that are very light and very soft and weak. So I, like many others, end up using an insert in the back. I'm guessing your EC on the rear is no heavier than my setup.
