In case of Zeb, especially with 180-190 mm stroke, the lower leg pressure ramp is, as I can think off, the main issue. Something around 40-45 psi is significant bottoming pressure - playing the main role in lower pressure rates at least. Adding volume spacers, if I understand this correctly...
As long as You keep -22 stem + stack, You'll keep having this issue. If You have plastic covers in Your frame, You can convert / re-route the cables with pre -21 parts and keep Your headset covered from water. Knock block still works as designed.
Cube had true XS full 27,5" 140 full suspension (140 rear, 150 front) 2022. 625 Wh, Bosch CX 4th. I'm 5 ft, 110 lbs, inseam 25" and I got my heel on ground as dropper down. Spess S1/XS isn't that low, even though reach is very short. New models are mullets, so the 29" wouldn't be a problem, but...
Maight be, for someone with sacs ;) - don't worry, I rose the bar back up...
I had some rare issues with Haibike/Boxxer, but that frame was way harder to lean into corners. Voima's frame shape call for leaning the bike, plenty of room for that, so double crown shouldn't be any issue, except in...
Fair enough, You have experience indeed. I have never tried Dorado, but on the other hand, I suppose You are a lot heavier than 54 kg. For my weight getting rid of air spring added friction and progressiveness of pressure force in lower leg was the hugest improvement - Dorado might solve the...
Yes, that's true, but Zeb with Smashpot felt terribly heavy already. But Dorado it's still just an air spring, right?
My Zeb with boxxer x-soft coil is only 2,720 g. And there is so much You can do with shim stacks, to make Zeb a lot better - even without any custom parts. So I would first try...
No, I'm not. This is a huge investment to a bike, I had the similar limit 3 years ago, when purchasing my first emtb. Totally understandable, but hunger grows as You keep getting better and better...
Love You (Y) - correct, double crown brings so many new issues on-board. I would love to get brand new 35 mm coil boxxer w/ Avalanche. Dorado is way too heavy. But since NZL Dougal felt offended about my questions, Craig / Ava was honest that open cartridge isn't optimal for Zeb, this is the...
This piece enters to my super-Zeb tomorrow... I just decided I won't care anymore, I just want my Voima to be as perfect as possible, as soon as possible. Someone might be interested to make this commercial, for me this unique piece is just what I need - so I'll continue ... proper midvalve shim...
Shockcraft haven't answered since Tuesday, when I asked them about the time schedule / queue length from the time they receive my damper.
In case they get active again and I feel comfortable to send my damper overseas, has anyone here knowledge about the shim size They use in midvalve (iD...
I thought about that too, did some math and that extra space is probably enough. Never saw one live, so can't tell how bad it impedes any work with caliper. But because I tend to get some tiny scratches to bottom of my lowers (adventure rides, some forgotten trails of even no trails) I was too...
The bike definitely calls rider to ride faster. When I at first took speed on safe side to something I never before even thouhgt to double, a few run's later I almost did. Because I was able to increase my speed time after time, simultaneously hitting the next bump every time harder than ever...
Shockcraft answered too, apparently they are modifying OEM parts, so I need either buy another 2.1 RC2 from them, or send the one I have. Based on their website, as well as Avalanche's, high speed spikes is some well known issue with RS.
I did some more math and open bath doesn't seem to fit...
This is what's going on in the midvalve: 15x.15 shim has quite forgiving 0,35 mm float, after that untill 1,2 mm bends over app. 7,5 mm notch and then sudden change over app. 10 mm spring (bottoms at 1,2 mm). Regardless of exact measures, this behavior is far from continuous curve that should...
Thank You. I emailed them both. Perhaps source of excess progressiveness comes from the spring side / air spring, that wouldn't be any problem on that case.
Or maybe Shockraft can just send over the modification set / parts needed, time frame I suppose will be several weeks anyway :/

Hello,
tuning Zeb for rider sub any weight category has started to turn into headache.
Fork is MY23 Select with MY22 ultimate / 2.1 RC2 damper.
Lower leg pressure turned out too dominant with 30 lbs/in coil, even with Smashpot.
So I solved the spring side issue by turning some custom parts to...
I gave him treatment he deserved, rocks and roots, mud and tight trail, smallish drops - and careful wash afterwards :D
Even though fork damper has way too harsh midvalve for someone my weight, it's still the best I have founs- unless Avalanche taken into account. I wonder why 190 Zeb isn't...
I'm kind of that group... FR really isn't for me but I don't see Voima as FR bike either... it's though interesting how Voima performs under Your abuse (Y). And so much sag, I suppose it's not that nice/grippy damping on rooty, rocky trails :o
