Well your post might save someone else from grief :). I need to swap out a caliper - but I hope to leave the existing cable in place and just bleed again when the new caliper is on
Does the rise use an orbea battery? I'm always a wary of proprietary parts. It's not a problem if you don't keep the bike long enough to have to replace the battery, but otherwise...Or is it possible to repack the battery with 21700 cells or whatever they're using?
They didn't like the trek 😂
You're agreeing with me :)
Seeing the trouble that some folk are having getting those repairs or motor replacements done, I wouldn't take the chance on buying a new bike with the e13/ep8 combo.
From one of my fb posts a while ago re tick:
"We've been mountain biking. Got home, and I found this thing in my head. I had a couple of spills trying to get over this one obstacle, my left foot won't come out and over I go rolling around in the dirt. It was a tick. Gail pulled so hard with...
Woohoo! Winter is coming, so I've just ordered a light that will wire directly into my shimano e8000 system. Had to order a cable too, so Au$200 all up MJ-906S E-Bike Light - IPX6 - 4500 Lumens - Without Battery Pack
My rear brake had a 180mm rotor, twin pot and resin pads. There are a couple of long, steep rowdy washed out black tracks that had the rear rotor changing color. I swapped out the rotor to a 203. Then had an even longer daily descent while away for a week in Maydena - I've just bought a shimano...
It really is looking like a parts availability scenario. Just checking out another ep8 mtb I was interested in, the polygon Mt Bromo N8; it also has e13 cranks 😟. The various manufacturers must know this so it really looks like it is up to the bike manufacturers to honour any ep8 shaft breakage...
I've now got over 3000km on my original cluster and chain. I keep an eye on the chain using a park tool .75 gauge - it's still not close. I'm about 90kg with a day pack and if I'm not riding up steep stuff it's because I've reached the top and going down; their isn't much flat stuff here. I...
Isn't it more to do with the people who buy those bikes? How many of them do any maintenance? I see them all the time too - most of the time they can't change gears because of simple adjustment issues, chains are never lubed, tyres are flat. I started into mtb about 12 years ago and bought a...
I'm interested in the same bike. I contacted bicyclesonline.com.au - they're the only importer / seller for marin bikes here. Here's their answer:
"Bicycles Online would like you as our customer to be confident in riding a bike from us, at the moment there is a real challenge to source parts...
They were e13 cranks; no shimano motors involved

I'm interested in getting an e2. Here in Aust. they only have online sales through one company, so I can't test ride. Can any owners give some feedback on their size (height) and what size bike they have, and if it suits them. I ask this because the reach is pretty long on these. According to...
