For me the biggest change was doing technical and steep climbs that I never would have done on the acoustic. It effectively opened up a lot more riding for me in the same areas (it's steep where I live and ride). Do you have climbs like that and are interested in them?
I'm no expert, but looking at what you described, esp. that it is getting worse; have you checked for friction? Put the bike upside down, turn the cranks - does it feel like normal motor drag? Then spin both wheels - are they spinning freely. Then pull the chain backwards - you should feel motor...
My merida e one forty has always been out. Similar to yours, speed and odometer reading show more than they should. This of course means I'm not getting assistance to a real 25kmh. Different tyres will have different circumferences, but mine was out on the original tyre too.
For some reason...
I don't think the motor can act as a dynamo - it would have to be designed to do that. I shall tell you in an hour or so if my bike does that.
I'm back. In the highest gear, which should turn the motor over the most, I wheeled backwards reasonably quickly for about 5m. Nothing happened. I have...
I think those bikes would still get stolen just as readily as your other bike. The best you can do is make your bike look like too much trouble to steal - "serious lock" on it like you said, and in a public / visible location. :)
I wouldn't rely on insurance, they seem to always have a sneaky...
I don't doubt that shimano has some hand in the failures here, however I keep coming across e13 crank issues too. It just seems to be a lose lose combo. Check out the video from 13 minutes:
Geez, I probably have the same thing - I'll go and look now. Talk about brain dead. I've felt a bit of a slip in the higher gears, gave a casual glance, looked at derailer alignment, and continued on - doh!
or break an ankle, or worse. Imagine if it went on a jump or drop landing - something's going to hurt. That dh dude broke his ankle when his e13 crank snapped.
I haven't taken the view of whether it's e13 or shimano at fault. My view is that if shimano won't honour any spindle repair where non...
Thankyou for the review - it's an interesting looking thing, and so small.
I never understood the use of co2 - waste cannisters, when they're empty that's it, expensive etc. I've always carried a small pump - I've had it for about 10 years now. It has cost me nothing to keep using it, nothing...
Yes, that seems to be a common phenomenon with those new to ebikes; it was for me. Lots of discussion here. I still have 165 and rarely strike now - I'm guessing just the rare occurrence like I used to with my analogue bike. I would suggest staying with your cranks and you adjust - we are...
I would not be surprised if that $20 med is every bit as good as the $200 med. Business is business and will take advantage of perceptions based on ignorance. A 5x profit just based on a label change would be considered very good business. This cheapy has 6mg of ivermectin - compare that with...
Geez, we have it good. One tick in about 20 years and reasonably dry tracks all year round. I have seen more snakes than ever before this summer but I have no problem with them.
can't you just ride it. If you need to change something you'll soon know. For me it was obvious; smaller chain ring, 203 rotor on the rear, then better caliper on the rear (4 pot and metal pads vs 2 pot and resin pads). It's steep up or down here so you can understand my changes.
I've just bought a generator. You kind of need a generator with double the output capacity of what you need, otherwise the motor will be running at maximum capacity and it will be loud. It probably won't last long that way either and use a lot of fuel. We bought one to charge a power station on...
that seemed a pretty minor quibble to them; I don't think better tyres would have saved it in this review. However, at that price point, I really wouldn't want to have to change anything.
No, you're probably not missing anything. Yes, that is a huge bungle if they are indeed non standard. I've always liked the idea of hub gears but these were the first that looked reasonable re weight, quality and gear range. Knut found them to be reasonable in the short time he had with them...
our ticks (australia) are probably different. Yes, you're not meant to use tweezers or anything that squeezes or pulls - their heads can get left behind. I think all our ticks have tiny heads - really small heads. We don't get lyme disease, but some ticks can cause paralysis. Burning or...
