    Has anyone wrapped their helmet?

I have thought about hydrodipping but that would coat all surfaces so foam inners through any holes in the shell🧐 I do have a 'spare' (crash-tested) 7idp carbon ff that could be experimented on..... ^This. I'm a steelworker (for the moment anyway  ) and have always been told to not...

    Knee Pads in 2024

^^This. I've tried Poc (too tight - not pedal friendly), 7idp 'Project' (comfy but a little tight:() and now wearing older Fox d30 knee pads - these are generally ok but like the 7idp are a little 'snug' and have started rubbing above my knees on both legs  I am not small and all of...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Michlin E-Wild (29x2.6) rear, E-Wild (29x2.6) front and Wild Enduro (29x2.4) front tyres. I'd used E-Wild rear & Wild Enduro combo on my Rail previously as 'back-to-front' widths with good results so bought another pair, the wider front E-Wild is to try:unsure: will be using Nukeproof's 'ARD'...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Hope cranks & Maven brakes fitted(y) test-ridden to bed-in the pads & discs & I can say Sram's claims are possibly correct about the power🧐 shortened the front hose a smidge (was 2m long) but the rear I used it's full length. bit of 'Spiwrap' to tidy the cables & hoses, also helps minimise...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

had my last Wiggle order delivered on Tuesday, £155 on 3 x 12speed casettes (£17each!) 3 x NP ARD (cushcore type things, 2 in a box with valves @ £15 a box!) and a LOT of 99p bits&pieces :p thats ~ £1300 I've spent with Wiggle this month, sadly they were clearing stock and I'm guilty of...

    Chain reaction beware before ordering

used paypal so (hopefully) safe 🤞 all good though as everything was delivered safely😎 Nukeproof wheels, rims, freehubs & wheel hardware, grips etc. as well as tools and tyres / NP's 'ARD' cushcore copies (27.5" but stretch to fit 29" rims:p) Rich.

    Chain reaction beware before ordering

monday & Tuesday this week I've ordered in 2 seperate orders from Wiggle (CRC) ~ £1000 in total , second order was delivered yesterday and the larger first order delivered today - admittedly the first order had a toolbox that said it would be a slower dispach & delivery. Rich.

    Michelin E-Wild 2.6 tyres.

I've been using an E-Wild on the rear of my Rail5 for several trips to Bpw & I'm not dead yet 🤡 I've also run a 'Wild Enduro' (not E-wild) on the front but the last 2 trips I've been running a Maxxis Arseguy on the front but putting the Michlin back on for tomorrows trip(y) only criticism...

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

bit of an update (or followup?) so... the Ohlins coil shock had went back to it's owner (Mrs Zed.) and fitting it into her S-works EvilKenevo thing was interesting to say the least - but thats not really relavant here... back to Rail stuff:cool: I have a Manitou Mara (inline) damper to...

    Brake rotors

I think you'll get brand-loyalty suggestions🤷‍♂️ I've gone for Sram 'Code' RSC on my gen2 Rail5, partly as they were cheap on Wiggle's discount sale (£100 per wheel iirc) and partly as they have a good reputation😎 as to discs, my Rail has 203mm discs f&r so would have thought a Rail9 had...

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

Manitou make 2 lengths of piggyback thinggy with the longer on 'Rail sized dampers (although can be bought aftermarket and aparently easily swapped  Manitou are having a sale (on their website) so lots of heavily discounted prices..... ^^ Usefull IF you live in USA / Canada but not...

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

I'm going to tread into murky waters next weekend, trying a Manitou Mara rear damper on my Rail5:oops: back story, I have a gen3 Nukeproof Mega 290c (Wiggle discount frame set & self build) that runs Manitou Mezzer forks (180 travel) and was good with it's origonal-fit Rockshox Super Deluxe...

    which fork its better?

or, the Mezzer 'Expert' with the more simple damper on the compression side? also they're diy adjustable for travel from 140mm to 180mm in 10mm steps (y) plenty of info here... https://www.mtbr.com/threads/manitou-mezzer-owners-thread-setup-tech.1177011/?nested_view=1&sortby=oldest#replies...

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

it is indeed a 2022 Rail5 medium frame, the damper & spring fits without clashing - as I'm a Fact-Hunt I definately would have given it all the travel🤭 the damper travel is the full 65mm as.... 1, I was too lazy to fit the spacers... 2,thought as I'm a Fact-Hunt it might help🤠 3, I've fitted...

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

recent upgrades? 'borrowed' my mrs's new Ohlins rear damper (bought for her s-works 'Evil-Kenevo🤭) and 'tested' it on the rail :p I already had a suitable spring so was just a case of sorting the fitting hardware(y) 2 test-rides done & it's a vast improvement over the origonal rockshox air...

    Bike Parks Uk

Bpw on a monday or friday (not school holidays) is quiet, sundays are not too bad either as it seems long-distance visitors drive home on sundays:unsure: hopefully🤞 :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: e-pedalup is good as you can loop sections and not governed by uplift taking you to a central...

Full Face - When do you decide to wear one?

I wear a full face nearly all the time, cheaper than a dentist (not got one anyway!) and I dont mind lookin like a Tit 🤭 openface for gentle cruises along easy trails and seafront wombles🙃 Rich.
