time for a recent photo....
Saturday late morning coffee break in BPW 😎
I've yet to replace the rear shockabsorber as I'm (a little heavy) blasting the travel on some stuff🤭
Rich.
I've an assguy on the front of my NP Mega 290 (not mulllet) and when thae assguy is worn have a wild enduro to replace it, hopefully it's a good choice 🤞
also running a dissector rear (although maybe not a great wet / mud tyre?) - nearly all ridden in BPW🙃
Rich.
theres a bit of a reputation around the rear axle bearings used on the rails, my 2022 Rail5 had rear looseness after ~30 miles so I stripped / cleaned / greased / reset preload (y)
about 150 miles later I felt that dreadded wobble again🤨
so I replaced the wheels (Nukeproof Nutron c/o Wiggle🙃)...
bought a 'pre-loved' set of forks for my Rail5, I already have some of Manitou's Mezzer Expert forks on my NP Mega and rate them highly, a set of Mezzer pro forks were on ebay so a bid was placed & sucessfull😎
when they arrived I gave them a service and will hopefully find time to fit them this...
set sag & try for comfort, suggested pressures are just a starting point (y)
^^This (y)
not 'Zeb' related but...
I'm running a 37mm Manitou Mezzer on my 'keep-fit' Nukeproof Mega @ 180mm (+10mm over spec.) and it's really comfortable even over rockgardens & drops😎 it's running ~63psi in...
I think the best way to describe my tool storage is that theyr'e Spread around like a mad-woman's shit :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
mtb tools are in a plastic storage box that is too small so some regulars like allen-keys are in our cycling backpacks.
general tools, do I include the Lathes...
'22 Rail5 gen2 owner.
only once has the 500w battery run low when riding & that was when I didn't charge before a ride (started ride ~70%)
battery mount issues? none here BUT I did replace the Purion controller with the Kiox upgrade and argued with the battery alignment plate so think I've...
most people ignore limits anyway, some drive @ 20mph, some @ 30mph and a fair few @25mph (splitting the difference?)
some local roads have 20mph signs @ one end and 30mph@ the other - adds to the thrill of driving:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
wont be long before the tax collection speed camera's...
I'm lucky as I have a well stocked workshop, machine shop and welding facilities at home (well, in the garage 🤭)
problem is getting the hwyl to go out there and do something🤨
most cycle work is diy'able, my mrs 'built' her Nukeproof Mega from a frame (Wiggle super discounted)(y)
one tip for...
Sorta +1....
standard brakes (& suspension / tyres) are good enough for you to ride BUT also allow customising or upgrading as you please😎
my rail5 is mostly standard but better brakes are coming soon - have Sram Code Rsc f&r on my Nukeproof Mega & they are fantastic in comparison with the...
Understood 🙃
I've worked too much this year, have end-of-summer rebuilds in the mear future on my rail & her Rise and also trying to weld my car...
seem to get out maybe twice a month🥴
Rich.
sounds odd, my mrs repaired a punctured 'tube on my rail5's front tyre & that was bontrager wheel / tyre combo and didn't say it was a hard job🤭
I've just bought a set (from Wiggle) for my rail5 so hopefully goodenough🤠
Rich.
had my order from Trek delivered today, now have the toptube Kiox mount to fit (whenever I feel like it 🙃 )
theres a little fettling to fit but nothing taxing...
compared to the Bosch-supplied 'stem' mount, I'll be keeping that in my bag for an 'incase'🥴
Rich.
yesterday we went for an exploritary womble around Brechfa's 'red' trail (starts in Abergolech 🥴 ) covering over 12 miles and the weather was hot🥵, some nice climbs and the first trail was in a pine forest that was a little eerie as was silent in there🤨 whereas the other trails had a soundtrack...
We went to Bikepark Wales yesterday, morning on a 'training' course & after lunch had a quick play before getting home early 🥴
photo of our parking space @ lunch - much cooler than on the trails🥵
mrs on the Orbea & I was on the Trek:cool:
got home and pre-washdown inspection showed a...
oddly theres a discussion on the FB 'Trek Rail Owners Worldwide' group started a few days ago about this
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1121838741488473/
theres a few options but easiest is probably the Bosch offering

as example it's £15.49 from TBS Magura...
