Why not consider a bigger tyre, like 2.6 high volume? A dhf or dhrII. I only ever buy them on sales - $38 (au) here now for a dual compound dhf 27.5 x 2.6. I recommend maxterra though, I think they actually last longer.
I'm currently running a 2.8 rear that I got for nothing. It has about an...
that's my winter tyre selection :). I'm kind of enjoying dhf front and rear through the drier months.
I have formed a theory peculiar to maxxis tyres - maybe to other tyres too. I had a rear dhr in maxterra compound - I got 2,500km out of that. It still has some tread. I don't slide around...
Yep, that's it :). If I'm really honest, I don't mind if they get a fright . Everyone else can hear me coming a mile away; me huffing and puffing and the bike whining
I don't think so; you might be thinking of power? Lower gears = more torque as does a longer lever (crank). If you have a shorter crank you can't produce as much torque as you can with a longer crank. If you're happy with the shorter crank, that's what matters. It will be less stress on the...
I hate coming up behind people plugged into music - they always get a fright. I wonder to myself how many times does that have to happen before they wise up?
I suppose it's higher cadence vs lower torque then. I'm still surprised - I would have thought these low torque motors would benefit from more torque input . High cadence smacks of road riding to me and high torque is mtb unless you're smooth pedalling (less slip) up a not too rough...
To get one of the basics out of the way, while you're pumping up your fork, do you equalize the pressure? Are you aware of this?
If not look from 3'50'' into this video for explanation
Awesome, thanks for that. I was also wondering this. I'm surprised surprised though, I thought batteries depleted faster in the cold; maybe that's just when being used?
Yes, I don't understand lowering the number of spokes. One thing I like about merida is that they use 36 spokes in their rear wheels! The only time I've seen broken spokes on trail were from 28 spoke wheels, admittedly giant bikes - not many specialized around here.
I guarantee they are doing just that. Every app has a cost, just like pharmaceuticals. Does the benefit outweigh your data being shared?
I rarely have my phone online. I do use gps but have found that I can do this with flight mode activated - that is just gps, not using the mobile network...
I'm surprised you went with shorter cranks. I thought that was one area orbea was being intelligent with when they supplied longer cranks for these lesser powered bikes.
I think you dodged an obvious bullet there! I imagine they will become common place and reliable, eventually. Or they'll just fade away. I try to avoid new tech and new models - look at how some bike models have faults. Better to wait and see.
I've been watching this trailer for a while re pricing. Amazon seem to be the only stockist now; $868 today
I'd make sure you can make an axle work first - this could be your other limiting factor!
A longer wheelbase will always give a smoother ride everything else being equal. It puts you more between the wheels which is where all the up and down bounce is happening. It's also possible that the suspension on either bike wasn't really set up for you - that takes some time with the bike.
I had to post this. If you look at the opening shots, all the little emtb riders in the distance are riding backwards :ROFLMAO:
The winners of the womens and the mens seem like really nice people.
