Nope, I enjoy coastal path walking and fell off a boulder when one walking boot got stuck. 1mile hobble up a path till I could call for assistance due to no phone signal.
I did research new pedals whilst waiting for my x-ray (still undecided) and parts needed for the headset on the CUBE. All without the wife saying "stop spending money on the bike".
Currently 3 days into my holiday in Somerset on the Jurassic Coast.
Had a fall, spent 3hrs in A&E. Have a bust ankle, lump of flesh missing from my elbow and now on crutches.
So no MTB riding for me for 4-6 weeks?.
Stay safe everyone.
Probably a bit too advanced for me, im pretty much used to the Red section but still bottle out on the two drops near the skull & cross bones sign. Never tried the down hill section either.
Hope to meet you guys at some stage, learn some skills.
Sorry I missed this. Sundays aren't a good day as the eldest has rugby. Looks like you had a good time, speedy recovery for Ashley.
Being new to MTB riding (6 months) and eMTB riding (4 weeks), I have been using Sherwood Pines to learn skills for the last 3 months. I do the blue route to warm...
Today I re-did the red route at Sherwood Pines but this time a took a conscious note to;
- Use one finger braking.
- Reduce the grip of my hands on the bars.
- Reduce the tense in my hands/arms, relax more.
Pain reduced by 90%, had a fantastic ride, really, really enjoyed it. Going to get the...
What a fantastic forum. Some really good advise. I will try a few of the suggestions and practice a few things.
Need to sort this hand/finger pain as I'm really enjoying the MTB and rides out, especially for the mental and cardio health.
I do actually suffer from arthritis (very mild) in my knees and just one finger. It doesn't seem to effect my riding (only been MTB'ing for 5 months).
When the bike goes in for its service next week, I will discuss potential setting up more for me and I'll do some research on those grips?
Thanks for all the replies.
Pedals are DMR V11, nice metal spikes which grip my O'NEILL MTB shoes. I will experiment riding position (and watch some uTube vids).
I'll experiment with using one finger over two and see if that helps. The pain in my hands really put me off the ride. For anyone...
Newbie, queries.
I have been to Sherwood Pines today on my CUBE STEREO HYBRID 160 HPC RACE 625. Did the Blue route, then a 30min break before doing the Red route for the first time.
A few questions;
-Is it best to have 1 or 2 fingers over the brake levers all the time? I use two but after a bit...
If you can plug in at work for free and it covers your daily journey, it won't cost you anything to commute. Weekly shop for us is Aldi, next door is a Sainsbury's with some free 7kW chargers, so we can go shopping and the whole trip costs us Zero ?
Yes, Octopus Go tariff. It is for electric cars and ideally charging over night. The Soul is 2yrs old (5yrs left on the warranty) and purchased outright for £14k. We preferred it over the Leaf, especially with the long warranty.
Purchased a Kia Soul EV for my wife. She does approx 4-5K miles a year. We charge at home for 5p/kWh, RFL is NIL, she is saving £25-£30/month on diesel from her last car. First service was £68.00?, this year's service was just £89.
For me, an electric company car would be ideal, unfortunately...
I made the decision a month ago and picked it up two weeks ago.
So far in have done 55 miles on trail.
I cannot believe how good these are, I still get a work out and can cycle for longer on each outing, I'm not dying on the steep inclines, I'm actually enjoying them. I can carry more speed...
Been there, done that.
Had a car accident, 3 months in hospital before living with my parents to recover. After 5 days I was in agony with constipation, untill eventually passing what seemed like a piece of coal the size of a baguette.?
First ever eMTB. Picked it up last week and had its second run out this morning around Sherwood Pines.
Only mods are pedals and a marsh guard.
This bike has given me so much confidence on the trails over my last MTB, an analogue full suspension. Absolutely love it?
The blue is just over 6 miles, quick and flowing. Some twisty bits, inclines and descents.
Only been mountain biking for 4 months and last week was my first time on the eMTB, I did the blue in 26min.
