In my opinion, a 48 volt battery is better than 43v and 36v.
Because the higher the voltage, the lower the current, which means less heat, and therefore better engine efficiency and performance. ;)
There are 43v Bafang M510 motors available for sale as well.
For example this Italian company sells ebikes equipped with 43v Bafang engines، but I don't know what is the purpose of choosing a 43v system instead of 48v.

Hi @Kiwin, Thank you for this great and detailed post. Best post in this forum for assembling a bike.
I would also like to build a bike similar to your bike and still waiting for the motor and frame to arrive.
After several months, how did you find the bike parts?
Do you recommend choosing the...
The most important question is, do you think that the M510 motor is likely to increase the difference to 4 amps more than the M500?
I mean with future updates.
Who running a coil shock with dengfu E10 frame?
Share with us your weight and spring rate
I weigh 80 kg and would like to buy a 500lbs spring, what do you think?
This is good news that the motor is so powerful.🙂
But sometimes we need more power to climb steep slopes easly.🚲⛰
So I told you without overheating so as not to shorten the life of the motor.
The problem is that the M600 motor is not legal in the EU, otherwise I would have bought it instead of...
I agree with you on many points, but it is very important that we get the maximum power that the motor can provide (Of course, without overheating) and we always have the option to reduce that power as needed by choosing lower levels.
I think the M510 motor is a strong candidate to beat Bosch Motor (Performance X Gen 4), especially if it receives many updates in the future like the Bafang m500.
It will probably become 20 to 25 % stronger than it is now.
You are likely receiving error code 7 because of over voltage. A 36v battery is actually fully charged when it is at 42.0 volts. But maybe your full battery voltage is higher than that did you check it?
