    BEWARE!

A simple enough job, cleaning the chain on my 2 month old Merida eOne-Sixty. But I thought I'd be a bit more thorough than usual, so I popped it up on my Park Tools bike stand as a recently mangled knee is stopping me bending down for a while. There's only one horizontal piece of top tube that...

In truth I was drying my arse! Borrowdale was particulary wet this day. (I've extended my mudguard now!).

    EP8 description poser?

@Gary not sure how my vertebrae would cope with over twice the pressure I've used for the last fifteen years! I left Hardtail Heaven behind a very long time ago :D

    EP8 description poser?

Too right I'm weak, in the extreme! After riding it on three weekends then jumping on my Trek Fuel for night rides the little 26er thing just flies, so maybe the Merida is making me stronger, I'd like to think so! I had considered saving up for lighter wheels and tyres but I fear the weight of...

    EP8 description poser?

I'm in the UK. This is a direct quote from the Shimano Steps UK web site where the motors are restricted to 15.7mph/25kph (EP8 e-Bike System – SHIMANO STEPS): "Responsive, especially noticeable when riding above 25km/h" How on earth can they claim this? Mine starts to drag you backwards at...

    eOne-Sixty 700 aluminium shock swap

Yes indeed, that was one of my mods too, I fitted Miranda 155mm cranks. But because I like so much sag I would still prefer to jack it up a bit. I lifted the forks 15mm with a homemade adaptor between the head tube and crown and also stuck in a TF Tuned 170mm air shaft. Fork stanchions actually...

    eOne-Sixty 700 aluminium shock swap

Hi all. The mods I've done to this wee beastie since I got it at the end of October have more-or-less got rid of the pedal strike problem I was having (before you "change your riding style" folk start, I do have a little experience of rock gardens over the last 30 years with little trouble, I...

    Official Merida eOne-Sixty thread

I've never had anything but Small/Medium MTBs but the only Merida eOne I could find was Large. I feel comfortable and maybe even a bit safer on it, somehow. I just shifted the saddle forward a little and that also helps with climbing steep stuff.

How the heck did you decide what to buy?

I bought this because it's shiny.

    Help! EP8 no workee

Yes, one of my thoughts was that the rotor magnet may have lost some strength so I stuck another one on top of it but it didn't improve things. Must have knocked it off trying it out!

    Help! EP8 no workee

Thank you all so much for the help and lack of abuse! Here's what I told my buddies on FB this morning: I'm still trying to figure out the answer boys. Someone online suggested a magnet problem, possibly in the wrong position (impossible as it turns out) or a magnetised disc rotor (easy to see...
