Just found out the other bike I was considering, the Trek Rail 9.8, has a 120 day ETA. They are also having issues, although not Shimano related. Looks like a long wait either way... ?

All new EP8 motors are on embargo by Shimano. Possible recall with a mounting bolt issue. All bikes with motors installed may need to be changed out before release. My Commencal won't ship until December now.

Merida 9000 only available via eBay here in the US and cost $8400 with 500wh battery. Commencal signature with better spec $7100. No brainer.

There has to be some stupid little washer or plastic bit that can be added to hold the rattle in check. Or some creative engineer type can sell a fix and become a millionaire...
